Bios cheksum error is what i get when i start my pc and the next i see is found drive a: make sure there is a bootdiskette and push enter. but when i do it he do not see my diskette . i do not know what...

disable the floppy drive from the bios if you don't use it. also you need to flash your bios newer ROM file version since your current bios is corrupted and when it compares the original checksum with the actual one it doesn't match, meaning your bios got corrupted.

you can get the latest bios files from your motherboard maker.

checksum error can happen when a download is corrupted.
try downloading again if you downloaded it. if it is not downloaded try locating a replacement from manufacturers website.

When i start my computer it gives an error "CMOS cheksum error, press f1 to continue.defaults loaded"

This normally means the CMOS backup battery on the motherboard needs to be replaced. Most boards use a commonly-available 3-volt coin cell. It just pops into a holder on the board. Change the battery and that message should quit bugging you.

Checksum Error after Bios Upgrade K7VZA

Have you tried resetting the CMOS? Often, after upgrading BIOS you need to clear the CMOS and re-setup to handle the new features. You should have a jumper to clear CMOS, or you can remove the power from the system and remove the battery for a few seconds to clear it.

Let me know if this clears up your issue.

Bios cheksum error

hi im josh in cebu phils. may i helped you? Friend you need to replace your cmos battery because The most common cause of a checksum error during the startup process is due to a faulty battery which is not providing sufficient power to the motherboard when the computer is off. However, motherboard malfunctions and viruses can also contribute to checksum errors. good luck.

Motherboard doesn't accept WD 40 gig on.

When you say "the system didn't work with that", do you mean it didn't identify the drive? When you go into the BIOS setup, are the drives displayed, or are they shown as "Auto"? Did you correctly change the WD drives jumper to Master, and the old drive, to Slave?
