Hi Armando, I guess you chucked it in the bin by now, but I just fixed exactly this problem on my MM-ZJ6. It is caused by capacitor RC7 (10uF) going open circuit which puts a huge ripple on the "Power Sens" line causing a reset pulse to go to the microprocessor every 50msec, resulting in it never starting.

To find RC7, remove the right hand side panel and look at the very bottom front of the large pcb. It is the smaller of the two located there. To change it, unclip the rear panel and angle it back slightly. You may find it easier if you remove the CD unit first.

I don't remember, but it is written on the side. Probably 50v. Also be careful to get it the right way round, check the +ve and -ve marks before removing it.

It doesn't know or care what feeds it if the interface is compatible.

I have got a Sony CMT-EX100 Micro System. When I touch the OPEN/CLOSE-button on the top, the system doesn't open. I opened the system and it seems that the magnetic disc-holder holds the disc-tray too...

This problem is easily repaired! The belt that drives the mechanism is worn out (relaxed) and slides on the motor pulley. Just open the device (from the bottom and then drag the body up by removing the edges). You have to put a new belt section ø 35 mm 1 mm and the unit will work again.

The Audio System does not respond to the remote control.

1. To reset their connection, turn on the remote control and switch the Audio System to Standby mode.
2. In Standby mode, press and hold both INFO and SOURCE on the front panel of the Audio System. It is reset to default when"RF ID clear" displays.
3. Press and hold both PROGRAM and SELECT on the remote control. When “ID claer” displays on the LCD of the remote control, the connection is reset.
4. By now the remote control and the Audio System should be connected to each other. Press and hold PROGRAM and SELECT on the remote control again. When
“ID Locked” displays on the LCD of the remote control, the connection between the remote control and the Audio System is locked.

To isolate the source of the problem disconnect all speakers and turn on the unit, if it works that means that you have to check cables and speakers. If the problem remains that means the problem is with the unit. Professional technician is required: The problem is at the power output section (Defective out put IC or Voltage error?) Error e-20. Doesn´t Work anything related to the Cd Players.

The system may need to reset. Unplugged the amp from the power source completely and let it rest for at least 5 minutes.

The illumination can only be controlled from the main remote. Adjust the prongs inside the remote and this should fix the issue.
