Re: printer will not printer say reconnect firewakk
Disable your firewall. You can find it in control panel if you are using XP. If printer is ok, it seems your printer port is blocked by firewall. Add your printer port to your firewall exception list. Also add your printer program to that list if not enlisted yet. Keep informing.

The firewall is a protection the computer has..and usually blocks some devices or programs to connect to the internet or function ...It is used to mainly protect the computer against the external intruders ...To check if the printer is firewalled ..you have to go into control panel from the start menu..and in there double click the firewall icon ..and on the exceptions ..check the list and see if the printer is ticked...if it is not..tick the case and click ok ... But ..my advice is to reinstall the printer's driver from scratch ..and after that see if it works...usually when the printer seam to lit up ..and work ..but do not answer to the commands from the computer ..the driver is corrupted and causes the issue .. To reinstall it clean ..you have to go back in the control panel ...open the add remove programs..and remove the old program for the printer..(you will find it on the list by the printer's name ...there can be more than one program associated with the printer if it is a multifunctional ..) after that ,,,insert the disk that came with the printer..and run all programs on i t...and follo w the instructions on screen ...At one moment you will be asked to connect the printer..and continue the installation until finish ...or ..you install all programs and after that connect the printer and restart the computer ...Im almost sure that this will fix the issue if the printer do not have a physical damage .. Have a nice day , and ask for guidance if something causes you misunderstandings ...
This could be because of some blocked printer communications. Make sure to allow these communications in the program rules/permissions for your firewall. These articles should guide you on how to configure your firewall.
Consider temporarily disabling Windows Firewall,
Norton Firewall, ZoneAlarm or any other firewall, as part of troubleshooting network printer problems. If your computer doesn't see the printer, the firewall must be blocking it.
I had the same problem after I accidentally pulled the power cord out of the printer - it turned out to be the firewall on my PC, when the printer reconnected to the wireless network it got a new IP address and the firewall was blocking incoming messages from it.
I have seen that in most of the cases (with lexmark and dell printers)
it is fixed by reinstalling the printer software. Be sure that you
completely remove the older drivers using the cd or using add/remove
