Best way to hook up a network printer is to connect the printer to the same hub that the other computers connected to. Go in to the printer menu on the printer and print the configuration. There is an IP Address on the configuration page. After that on any computer hooked up to this network, go to start, printers and faxes, add a printer select local printer, slect add a new port, and type the IP address of the printer and click okay. If the drivers are not recognized you may need to install them by the CD came with the printer or download it from internet. Good luck :)

On the computer that the printer is connected to, go into the Printers and Faxes window, RIGHT click on the printer you want to share and select "Sharing...". After you finish going through the printer sharing wizard, go to a different PC and try to add a printer, select network printer. Make sure that the computer that is sharing the printer is on during this process, it sounds strange to have to mention this I know but you would be surprised. I'll check back later to see how things worked out.

You cant from a network on a USB connection. USB connections are for "local" printers. "add" the Designjet T610 printer to your other PC under "printers and devices" tab. Good luck !

This printer has only an USB connection that connects to your computer and cannot connect to wireless network directly. You can attach this printer to a wireless printer server/router to enable wireless printing.

Can't find printer on network

1.How are you attaching to the network printer from your daughters computer? IP address, or by the name of the printer...Also make sure you check you are attaching to the network printer, and not local printer.

2. Install the Microsoft TCP/IP version 6 protocol on both computers by clicking install on your LAN properties, then restart PC. This should work!

My HP Officejet 6310 All-In-One InkJet Printer is unable to complete the network installation

Are you connecting via usb or ethernet cable?
Through usb you need to install the driver on the pc it is connected to. Then share it.

Through ethernet make sure your CAT5/Ethernet cable is connected from your printer to your router/switch. Through the menu on the printer Print the network setup.

Then from your web browser type
http://ip address of printer from the network setup page

If you can then you need to add the printer driver on your pc and use a tcp/ip port to print to it through the network.

Network printer problem

Please let me know whether the printer is connected drirectly to a swtich with a print server or through any client pc in the network.

if its a print server you to get the IP address for the printer and add printer->choose local printer attached to this computer uncheck automatically then create a port ->type of the port standard TCP/IP give the ip address and then follow the step and its driver files etc.....

if its connected to the pc check the pc ip address ping it and know the pc is alive on the network and the printer is shared over the network then go to add printer you will choose network printer and browse for the pc under the pc u will find the printer
click over it and do the rest ...

Easy way go to the My Network places ->View workgroup computers -> choose the computer with printer double click then you will see that printer right click on the printer and choose connect - problem solved

Thanks

Unable to use printer over network with Server 2003 64Bit

Probably the best and easiest solution for your problem would be to buy an EDIMAX USB-Ethernet print server, or something equivalent. I have several of these running on the network at work. They're easy to setup and they work great.
