Question about Cooktops
The knobs that control the hotplate on a freestanding gas oven and cooktop stick and can not be turned when the oven below is in use. Obviously the extra heat from the oven is enough to cause them to seize, difficult when the hotplate is in use and the oven, have to wait for the oven to cool off before I can turn off the hotplate control knobs. The oven door seal is fine. It is not excessive heat that is hitting the control knobs they are not hot at all. Is it possible to disassemble the control valves and lubricate them??
Hi my name is mark, yes most manual gas valves can be disassembled and lubed. you will need gas valve grease. remember a little goes a long way and shut off the gas to the unit before disassembly.
