Question about Microsoft Internet Explorer 7

1 Answer

In IE7 Vista protected Mode ON, cannot print web pages. Tried the following solutions: 1. Uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh printer driver 2. Used ICACLS to set integrity level of ..AppDataLocalTempLow file to LOW 3. Disabled Cox supplied MacAfee AV services AND none of these actions solved the problem. Looking at a lot of forums with many people unable to print web pages in a IE7 Vista Protected Mode ON environment, these three solutions were presented. None of them worked for me. Is or has Microsoft addressed this problem? Appreciate any enlightenment on this problem, Bill Pruden

Did you disable the protected mode and totally exit all ie7 windows. then restart and then go to your website and try to print again. To disable the protect mode go to tools then internet options then security then at bottom uncheck protected mode on box. now close all windows and try to print from web page. if not see if the website that you want to print from has a little icon hiding saying 'printer friendly' and click on that.

IE7 won't print in Vista. Unable to print web pages or attached PDF manuals, etc. All other software [Word, Excel, etc.] does print Okay.

What print command method are you using (click Print icon, File>Print, etc.)? Do you get any error messages? Does anything else happen?

While loading/viewing a web-page, using Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7, under Windows Vista (4=WindowsNT, 5=Windows2000, 7=Windows7), it "crashed".

Try the same web-page from another computer also running Vista and IE7. If it works, then something on your computer is the problem.

Restart your computer, and try again to access the same web-page.
If you get the same problem, upgrade to Internet Explorer 8, and try again.
If you still get the same problem, contact the author of the web-page, and get them to investigate.

Do you have addons in your IE browser, if so right click on the IE Icon and click start in NO ADDON MODE and see if the behavior stops.
also, the .net framework can cause issues you may want to reinstall the .net 3 update individually and see if your IE settles down.
There are so many things that can cause problems in IE. especially when you update it, seems everytime there are problems.

Added ie 8 beta, uninstalled, ie will not start

basically your ie8 uninstallation is bad...try and see if you can get an ie8 uninstallation toolkit at microsoft.com to uninstall ie8 properly. Else, you might have to reinstall ie7 after uninstalling ie8.. this same problem persisted when micorosft released ie7 and i was supporting ie7 when released. so take my word. happens with all ie beta versions..
