Hello there I understand your Notebook shuts down after you turn on the power.
To isolate the issue, please perform these troubleshooting steps.
1) Power Drain :--- Static electricities some times cause your Notebook not to boot. To remove static electricities use power drain. Follow below steps for power drain.
a) Shutdown the Notebook. b) Disconnect any power source (i.e., AC adapters) c) Remove the battery from the CPU. d) Hold down the power button for 30-60 seconds. This will remove any static charges. e) Connect the battery back and power on the Notebook.

My laptops shut down when i put the adapter and doesn't get start up , but it's work normally with betray

Problem description:The laptop shuts off when AC power adapter is plugged in. The laptop works fine on battery power but as soon as you connect it to AC adapter, the laptop turns off.
Possible cause:1. Power adapter failure.
2. Motherboard failure.
Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution:First of all, test the power adapter. Make sure the adapter outputs correct voltage. It's possible that the output voltage is not correct and the laptop shuts down to prevent the damage. Test your laptop with another known good power adapter.
If the problem still exists, even after replacing the adapter, most likely it's the motherboard failure. Replace the motherboard.

Shut down computer but some lights stay on

Your are not "shutting down" the laptop. It is going into "Stand-by" mode.

#1:
When you want to shut down,
select [Start]
then select "Shut down" and not "Stand-by"

The power button will also work.
#2:
When you want to shut down,
Press the power button and nothing else.
The laptop will log you OFF and "shut down"

ok you have laptop. Look for a key called "Fn" it should be around the ctrl or alt key on your keyboard. Try pressing that. After trying to turn it on and it wont. press the Fn key. The last time you were able to use the laptop how did you shut it down? Did you tell it by going threw the menu when logged on. Or just pressed the button? Or did you tell it to shut down then you closed the screen/lid before it actually shut down? Laptops will go into stand by after you tell it to shut down if you dont wait til it shuts down, before shutting the lid. ALso depending on the laptop company you have Trying to figure out which one it is. They have program installed with your system. And depending on how it's set up, will greatly effect how or even IF your laptop will shut down right.

Laptop keeps cutting out

Lynda, your laptop is going to Standby mode, not shutting off. I'd suggest changing the power options. Go to: Start-Control Panel - Power Options - Power Scheme(Portable/Laptop should be selected) and change the settings. Good luck.

Shutting down

what is happening is it is hibernating not shutting down, open up acer empowering technology and go to the power settings or click on the battery icon in taskbar and click power options, then there will be instructions that say when i turn off; power off and not hibernate as probably selected.
