Question about HP Compaq nc6000 Notebook
If you press on the top right corner near the pg up button on my set, it boots up fine but release the pressure and the screen goes blank but LED and HDD still hums. I got a guy to resolder the Maxim power regulator chip (BGA) on underside of the mobo. Now the set works fine. seems that opening and closing of the lid causes pressure and flex on the mobo and that in turn causes the BGA to "crack a lead". Only problem is locating the guy with the right tools to do it in your area. Got mine fixed on a recent trip to China
