Hey,

Try a DVD lens cleaner on the drive and see if it improves
similiar to this
http://www.amazon.com/Maxell-DVD-LC-DVD-Lens-Cleaner/dp/B00000JPPI

available at most local shops, make sure its DVD lens cleaner.
