Open a browser and type http://gateway.2wire.net or http://192.168.1.254; the 2Wire Home page opens.Once you are on the setup page, you can see all your settings.
If you want the wireless key, it is located on the label on bottom of the modem.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I cannot connect to the WFC because it needs the ip adress and the connection fails

Click start type cmd press enter you will be in DOS mode
type in ipconfigpress enter you will see all of your internet connection details type in your default gateway ip adress into your internet search should read something like 10.0.0.138

Your IP Address should be thought more as your computer's phone number than it's address, if you have multiple connections, you have multiple IPs if you dont have a connection, you dont have an IP.

Without further delay If you need your computers IP address:
This will work in almost every case, it simply requests the website's server to tell you what your IP is. http://whatismyipaddress.com/
I have included a link to make things easier.

If you are in a network and need your computers local address.
Hold the windows button (looks like the windows banner, usually between left ctrl and left alt) and press 'R'.

A box will display, and type in "cmd.exe" and hit enter.
The 'command prompt' will display, a black screen with white lettering.
Simply type in ipconfig. This gives information on all your internet connections.

Look for the line "IPv4 Address".
If you need to find the IP of a current connection you can type (from the command prompt) "netstat".

This will give you all your current connections.
To identify a specific one, the easiest way is to run it before you establish the connection then again afterwards.
Change IP Addresses

Your IP address is a series of numbers that identify your specific computer on the Internet.
If, for some reason, you want to change your IP address, you can do so without going into the command prompt.Click "Start," "Control Panel," "Network and Internet" and "Network and Sharing Center."

Click "Change adapter settings."
Right-click the network you want to change and click "Properties."

Click the "Networking" tab.

Put a check either next to Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) or Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click "Properties."

Click the radio button next to Obtain an IP Address Automatically if you want Windows to assign one, or click "Use the following IP address" to manually change it.

Enter the requested information and click "OK."

I had someone fix my laptop computer and they used their wireless and they didn't put back the one I had on there and now I can't access the internet

Go to your Network Connections and then Wireless Connections and right click on PROPERTIES.

Look for Internet Protocal (TCP/IP) and click on the Properties button.

Look to see that the dot is in front of Obtain IP Address Automatically. Click OK. Click on OK and close the window.

Now when you go to connect observe which wireless network it's trying to connect to. If yours was set up with a WEP key or WAP you will need to know that password.

Cannot log into ip to configure even when it is reset.

Default IP config page for WAP54G is 192.168.1.245 . What i've done in the past is hook it straight up to my computer, then in my computer in networking i click on tcp/ip properties and instead of obtain ip auto. set it yourself to 192.168.1.1 then save and then try to sign in to http://192.168.1.245 also before u do all this make sure to do a hard reset on the access point, push a needle in the hole, but actually hold it there for about 30 seconds, don't just push it and let go.

Do you have internet explore ip address. it starts 192"?

what do you mean by internet explore ip?? just your computers IP?? or your routers IP??
normally the IP would be 192.168.0.XX submask is 255.255.2550
but if you just need to know your ip for now just go to START>RUN and type CMD that will open command prompt ( quick way is windows sign on keyboard + R ) to open RUN
once in CMD you type ipconfig then you'll see your IP adress, subnet mask and default gateway. hope this helps

Belkin router is unable to connect to 2Wire ADSL modem/router. 2Wire router has DHCP server enabled and Belkin has DHCP server disabled. Belkin is set to obtain an IP automagically. 2Wire IP is...

If the Internet light is off then there is a problem with the phone line to the ADSL modem or the modem is faulty or there is a problem at the telephome exchange.
Disconnect the phone cable at the ADSL modem and connect a phone handset to this cable - check for a dial tone and that you can dial out.
If you don't get a dial tone, use a different or new phone cable.
If the phone line is OK then : -
Ring your ISP to get them to test your connection to your ADSL
modem.

Cant connect to http://192.168.0.50

what you need to do here is manually set your static IP adress, I had this problem as well and I know what to do.
you need to go to your network connections ( Controll panel>network connections) in xp (Controll panel>network and sharing center then left hand it sais: change adapter settings )
then rightclick your wireless connection and look at it's properties. then you need to click on Internet Protocol, for vista/windows 7 it's internet protocol 4 which you need to select. once selected click on properties just a little below.
there you'll see the setting is on: obtain Ip automaticly, but you'll have to choose ( use the following IP adress ) and enter

IP adress: 192.168.0.99
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.0.50
once entered press OK and now go to your browser and type the routers adress (192.168.0.50) in my case and now you should be in your modems setup menu.
once changed your setting you need to change your IP back to auto obtain IP adress. or your internet still won't work

Setting up my wireless

first connect the router via cable with the pc.
start internet-explorer, type in http://192.168.0.1.
this ip-adress maybe different for several routers, please read manual for the correct ip.
if ip is correct you can now see the menu of the router, type in your provider datas, secure the w-lan connection (wpa if possible), write down the passphrase you choosed. deconnect router - setup now your wireless usb-stick or w-lan card or use xp-assistent...type in your passphrase - should work now.
