Question about Televison & Video
I bought this TV from Craigslist for cheap. I knew the remote didn't work when I bought it, but figured I could either use the cable box remote or manually adjust the TV using the keys on the front panel. Imagine my surprise when I find out the remote DOES work, but the TV remote sensor does not! Not only that, I cannot scroll thru the menu using the front panel buttons. Not sure why, btu they do not seem to work. I have no idea what to do. The captions to the TV are stuck on, and I do not have a cable box yet, so who knows if I can access the menu with a cable box remote. My dilemma: How do you remove the cover of the TV?? Is there any way to fix the buttons on the front panel so I can get to the menu? And is there any way to fix/replace a remote sensor without paying a technician hundreds in repair fees? Oh and I am sure it isn't the remote. It programmed my DVD player just fine. Thanks! I have the same problem. I bought a new remote control and it seems to work fine (as far as responds by lighting up when any button is touched) but no response from the TV. I confirmed this by buying a universal and it worked fine on my other TV but not this one, so I'm pretty sure the remote sensor on the TV is dead. How can I change it? We have the same problem, too. We have a VS32L TV with the VUR4 remote that appeared to work intermittantly. We tried universal remotes, but they only worked intermittently as well. Is the remote sensor replaceable?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I just realized that there is no usb port on this tv. Called tech support at vizio since I'm still under warranty. They're sending a new remote. I know it's not the remote because neither the verizon nor the vizio remote works, although the vizio remote will intermittently work if I'm one foot away from the sensor on the tv and holding the remote on a downward angle. Tech support says they will send a new remote to rule that out before they send a tech over. I'll check the posts to see if you find a solution when I finally get the tech guy out here. If not, I'll let you know what he does.
