Question about Acer Aspire 9500 Notebook
The following error is generated in System under Event Viewer:
The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period.
The laptop randomly hangs for a minute or so then comes back. Sometimes during startup the BIOS can't find the boot device and is asking me to select a new one. Restarting it a few times will finally get it to boot. The HD appears to be fine. Is this likely an ATA controller? If so does anyone know if the ATA controller can be replaced or is it part of the mainboard? Thanks!
Hi, the controller you speak of is indeed emmbeded on the board.
you might try removing your hdd and reseating , try the same with your ram and cd/dvd drive i have had this on a travelmate 2410 turned out to be the dvd drive needed reseating.
hope this helps
