Lack of control with force feedback 2 on flight simm.X
Using this joystick with flight simulatorX IS crazy. Joy stick is sloppy&it is nearly impossible to fly a plane properly . Sometimes you loose all control and the flies into the ground. This unit is about 8 yrs old. Are there newer drivers for this unit?

ya the joystick will work you can use it because am also having the same am using it , its perfect but you have change control options in the game to joystick control and also if you want you can the options as you like, but this kind of joy is mainly used for flight running games but it also works for all joypad control games too.
O-the sweet feel of a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback lets see if I can be of some help. there could be any number of things going on but I'm going to give this a try. have you checked the settings in Flight Simulator 2004 seems to me that I remember a check box that said disable force feedback make sure that is unchecked. also in the settings for your controller there is a box that says enable force feedback make sure that is checked. then make sure if you are using a firewall like zone alarm you are in gaming mode because this used to give me major headaches with my system to the point I had to detach from the internet and shut down my firewall to play my games. if this doesn't work you may have to reinstall the drivers for the sidewinder this is the last easy option and it should repair any broke links and reset itself into your system. Please let me know how this helped if you need more Ideas just contact me.
I have same stick, that same software wont work with xp or vista depending on what game you have you should be able to set up in input settings for the game , there was a patch at one time that someone made up you mite want to try here and do a search > http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=frm&s=400102&f=49310655
I have a Saitek X-45 that I use. It comes with a throttle and joystick. It's controls are very smooth and can be adjusted for increased firmness. There are a lot of programmable buttons that work great for FS2002. The only draw back is the joystick does not have aileron control by twisting it, you have to program a rocker button on the throttle. Unless of course you go all the way and buy foot controls. It looks like the X-52 is the updated version of my controller but it isn't cheap. The X-45 works good for what I need it for.
I have the same problem - have lost all stick forces (everything else works fine) and the Forces self test that can be run from the original CD software says there is no electrical power. Have changed the fuse etc. but problem remains. I think something inside the device hardware is bust. Like you I cannot find anything on the Internet as to how or where the device can be repaired!
this worked for me, i have a ibookg4 and all all my dad had to do (complete nerd) had to do was REBOOT THE COMPUTER WITH THE JOYSTICK PLUGGED IN and the joystick worked after that. Posted by his dumb as a post sun...
