Remove the battery immediately, then just use a very lightly wet cloth with warm water. Afterwards put it upside down on a dry towel and let it dry overnight.

With my keyboard, I use a damp cloth with glass cleaner on it and wipe it off that way nice and gently, be sure your laptop is off when you do this, does a good job and makes it look like new again. Hopefully the kids didn't damage the keyboard.

My kids accidentally spilled orange juice on my laptop. It continue to work for a little but now the screen is black. What can I do?

Sugar is the worst. If you had immediately unplugged and removed battery you may have had a chance. Once sugary drinks get in it's almost a death sentence for electronic devices. If it's valuable take it to a Qualified Computer Tech, if not right it off as a learning moment. I spelled Juice on my HP Pavillion g6,, i dried it , but keyboard are sticky and screen has a white spot, whiter than the rest of the screen

The screen is probably permanently damaged... Some of the juice got into the screen which is bad news. You have to be very careful with liquids around laptop screens, even when your just cleaning it. You should never spray or spill anything on a laptop screen. So if it bothers you too much you'll probably want to bring it to an expert to be replaced.

As for the keyboard you can clean it easily with a damp/wet cloth while it's turned off and the battery removed...

HP Pavilion DV8113CL parts

Replacing parts on a laptop are generally expensive and difficult, your best option would be to send it to the manufacturer or bring it to a local computer repair shop and have them work on it. If it is no longer under warranty or protection coverage it is most likely time to look for a new laptop, unfortunately.

HOW do I remove the keyboard on a Gateway Laptop Model T-6330U, I spilled juice on keypad and heard sizzling when I restarted, and monitor fadded out. An external monitor works fine, and computer boots up...

You could send the laptop in for repair but it could be quite pricey, it sounds like the LCD is toast. If your keypad still works using an external monitor then you won't have to replace that.

Spilled juice on my H P Pavilion laptop keyboard, keyboard is not working at all. Please help!

Do you have an HP Accidental Damage extended warranty? If you do, you can call HP's tech support and get it fixed/replaced.

If you don't have the extra warranty, you can try to carefully pop the keyboard keys off and carefully clean underneath as the contacts below the keys are possibly stuck in the down position.

You may have to take it to a service centre and have a technician open up the laptop and see if it can be cleaned and try to "unstuck" the keyboard keys.

My laptop

I'll start by telling you that most of the time keyboards don't recover from a spill. With that said, clean it by using a 50/50 rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. Remove the keyboard from the machine, and spray the alcohol into the keyboard generously. Shake out the excess or blow it out with air, then use paper towels to daub up the rest. Repeat this process two or three times, then let the keyboard dry for a good 24 hours. While you have the keyboard off check for any juice or sticky areas in the machine, and clean them with the alcohol and Q-tips. Let this dry well also. After drying put the keyboard back on and try it. If you notice any sticky keys after using it for a while, then take the sticky keys off and clean them individually with the alcohol and Q-tips.

Spilled Grape Juice

To give it a good cleaning, you will need to remove the keyboard and clean anywhere you can see juice or feel stickiness. You can buy the expensive computer cleaners, but I suggest 50/50 rubbing alcohol and Q-tips. Remove the battery and C-mos battery to make sure there is absolutely no power to the machine what so ever. After cleaning inside, you will want to give it a good 24 hours to dry, ensure that there is no moisture before applying power. If the juice reached the bottom of the machine, you may need to remove the screen, split the cases, and take the motherboard out, in order to clean the bottom side of the board. If you leave juice anywhere on the board it will gum up, and the acids in the juice will corrode and detierate the circuitry on the board causing a motherboard failure. Now the keyboard, in order to thoroughly clean the keyboard, I suggest that you spray a good amount of the rubbing alcohol in the keyboard, shake it or blow it out with air, then take paper towels and daub up the rest. Repeat this two or three times, then let it dry approx 24 hours. Sometimes the keyboard won't recover after a spill and will need replaced. If it works properly, then, after using the keyboard for a while, you will notice if any of the keys are sticking. Take the sticky key or keys off and clean them individually. I know it's alot of work, but it'll teach you not to keep open drinks around your laptop. It did me, I've ruined one machine, two keyboards, and thoroughly cleaned a third very expensive machine of mine to keep it working, but I finally learned to drink from a sippy around my laptops.
