I have the sam problem with mine.  I installed it two yrs ago and it constantly turns itself off and gives me a solid light indication.  i cycle the switch on and off and it usually ignites the flame on the second try.  I cant figure out for the life of me what could be causing this problem.  Could the fact that the exhaust comes out of my house at a 45deg angle on the west side of the house.  Dont know im grabbing at straws here.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an electric water heater that is only 2 ys old. We had to turn the water off outside at the manhole 2 days ago to fix a problem in the bathroom. After turning the water back on a couple of hours later, we had water but no hot water. The light on the tank is on. We reset and switched the breaker but still no hot water. Help.....

First I would check to be sure your propane tank(s) are not empty and valve is not turned off and that the required gas pressure is being delivered to the unit i.e. pressure line tubing is not kinked or leaking - pressure regulator is operating properly.

Another culprit could be the thermocouple is malfunctioning or is not positioned properly, hence not allowing it to sense the flame.

A.O. Smith ProMax Plus GVR 50 101 Safety Question

You need to inspect and clean the air intake located on bottom of unit. Get more fresh air to the water heater and see if problem continues.

Instructions for lighting the unit are located on front of water heater.
Other possible causes include: bad gas control valve, dirty combustion parts, reverse draft down the stack (caused by wind and opening door inside closed utility room), low gas pressure, air in gas line, etc.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-gas-water-heater.html

Propane gas is heavier than air. So if you have a gas leak, then smell close to floor. Leave house immediately if you smell gas. Install a gas detector close to floor level near gas appliances.
Most water heaters today are extremely safe, because we experimented on prior generations of people, who then passed along their experience.

Pilot wont stay lit on waterheater. I replaced Thermocouple and that did not fix it. It will stay lit on vacation setting.

Most gas water heater problems can be fixed with yearly service that cleans burner and burner parts, checks gas pressure and bleeds air out of gas line, cleans air intake, and checks for venting and air intake problems.

Gas waterheater will not stay lit

if water heater heats up and after water is hot turns off you need to replace the control unit (part where all the little pipe hook into) should have an 800 number to call where you can give serial number and model number to see if still under warranty because part is as expensive as new water heater

Pilot won't stay lit in Reliance 606 gas water heater

The Reliance 606 has an enclosed thermal couple. Before you try taking that assembly apart take a wire brush to the bottom opening directly under the burner. There is a metal filter on the very bottom of the water heater. It could be that the filter has gotten filled with dust or animal hair. It took a serviceman 2 days to figure this out for me. The water heater has to have good airflow through that filter to work well.

Cant get my waterheater lighter to reignite

Sounds like the gas valve has failed. The gas valve can be replaced. It will unscrew out of the tank. Shut the water supply to the tank off and get the new gas ready to screw in. Take out the old and screw in the new, you will onlt lose about a cup or two of water if you are quick enough. Otherwise drain the tank down if you must. If you are going to replace the gas valve I would also replace the thermocoupler.
