My Daughter has a hotpoint experience tumble dryer and has removed the wireing off the back of the timer and doesnt know which one goes were can any body please help its a hotpiont experience TVEM70C6

Hello Adrian;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.
Below is a picture of your timer switch. Also is a video of how to replace the timer switch. You must play and stop the video watching where each color or combination of colors go to each terminal. Orientate your timer in the same position the person in the video is holding the new timer.

It you purchased a new timer switch there will be a wiring schematic in the box. The schematic may be difficult to read.
A new timer will cost $65.00-$85.00 USD

Dryer won't start - only beeps

If this unit has a timer it could be faulty. Make sure with the schematic in hand that all the wires are in the right spots on the motor. I did not post the model number so I am not sure what model you have but looks like a Whirlpool part number. If motor was running before you attempted to remove blade, this is a good one. If the motor relay is clicking but not turning that is almost like power is not were it should be. You can contact me here or reply to FIXYA with a response. Click here http://apcoappliancerepair.wordpress.com/?s=dryer+motor to see posts on dryers. I wish I could be more help. The first place I would start is with a schematic.

Bought new timer for Prodigy but thought i set the wires from the old timer in proper sequence but doesnt work so maybe wrong wires on wrong terminals

Look at the wires. They have markings on them that match the markings on the timer. Did you check the Non-resetable limit? If it is open the dryer will not run.89819b0.jpg

Need instructions on wiring for a 4-wire pigtail on a GE Dryer Just moved, the new place has the new 4 prong outlet so I replaced my pigtail with the new 4-wire one. Need wiring instruntions for the colors...

put the white in the middle,red on one side black on the other doesn't matter what side or just copy the old cord,now you need to ground it with the green wire,take off a screw on the back of the dryer near the other three and attach the green ground wire to it and screw it back in,the green wire just has to touch the metal frame to ground it

How do you install a 3 prong power supply cord to a GE Dryer?

DO NOT CHANGE THE POWER SUPPLY CORD.
you can't change the power supply cord.
the cord came with the dryer is 240v. the three prong is 120v. the dryer will burn up. if you change the power cord without changing the regulator , motor, and the heating element.
you need to get a electrician to run a 240v double breaker from the panel to the dryer.
