Aiwa DVD/VCR hack needed

not sure what your model is... but here are a few hacks for Aiwas

If none of these are useful, just do a search for "DVD Hacks" or something
similar in Google etc, there are loads of sites out there!

Here's how to convert your Aiwa HT-DV90 into a multiregion player:

1. Using the remote press the DVD/CD button.
2. Press the Open button on the remote control.
3. Press the buttons C, 2, 5, 8, 0 and C, in order on the remote.
4. You will notice the word TESTMODE on the DVD display. The onscreen
display tells you the current region set.
5. Press the up button on the remote until you see 14 02 on the display.
6. Using the remote control, press the buttons 1 and then 4, then enter 0
and 0 for multi-region, or 0 and 1 for region 1, or 0 and 2 for region 2,
and so on
7. Press the Enter button on your remote followed by the Return button.
8. You should notice TESTMODE appearing on the DVD display
9. Press the C button on your remote control
10. You should notice a message displayed stating EEP CLR followed by EEP
ERR
11. Put your DVD in the drive and press the Return button on the remote

You can covert your Aiwa XD-DV170 into a multiregion player by
following these simple instructions. There are no known problems with this
hack.

1. Firstly press the power button on your player to switch it off.
2. Next press and hold the 'Top Menu', 'Menu' and 'OSD' buttons on
your player until you see the word 'Factory' displayed on your players LCD
display.
3. Again turn off the player, and leave for a few seconds.
4. Insert the disc you want to play, and power up the player.

Your player should now play discs from all regions.

To turn your Aiwa XD-DV480 into a multiregion player simply follow these
instructions:

1. Connect the DVD player
2. Use the remote control to turn power on
3. Wait until "No Disc" appears
4. Press "Pause" and type the following code - 8, 9, 2, 6 - the display will
show "CODE__"
5. Within 5 seconds press 00 for all regions
6. Press "Pause" and "Power"

To view the firmware version of this player:

1. Press the Setup button on the remote control
2. Select TV Aspect and place the cursor on the 16:9 Wide option
3. Using the remote control enter the code 1, 3, 9, 7, 1, 3 and 9
4. Press the Enter button
5. You should now see the version information screen
6. Pressing Setup button on the remote control to exit this info

Multiregion Aiwa XR-DV370KN
To enable your DVD player to run all region DVD's, simply follow these
instructions. Firstly press the 'Pause' button on your remote control. Next,
again on your remote control, tap in the following buttons in order:
3,1,4,1,5 and finally 9. The next step is to press the '0' button on your
remote control if you want region free, '1' if you want region 1 and so on.
Finally, again press the 'Pause' button on your remote control and turn the
power on your player off for a few seconds. Return power to your player, and
your machine should now be capable of playing discs from all regions.

Tried all these and none work also did a search nothing new turned up.
Interestingly the firmware hack worked though
