I have been using Windows Media Player for transferring files to my Archos and every time I add any mpeg4 files and sync them, they are all unsuccessful and the error mentions that my device may not be able to play these kinds of files. I have downloaded the Cinema plug-in and the Podcast plug-in thinking that they might fix the problem, but to no avail. All of my video files are in Mpeg4 format, so I would really appreciate the help.
Re: My Archos 605 wifi will not accept mpeg4 files
Do not use windows media player. Go to my computer and then open the archos icon or in some cases words that have the name you named it or a605.Then go into the harddrive from there go to videos and drag and drop your videos into the folder inside the video folder or just drag and drop it. If it is on system settings Pc Hard Drive or any other setting other than windows mmedia device you have to manually update your abclibrary.

For as long I've got mine, 605 WIFI 160 GB, I don't have such an option for lyrics.
On the PC you can add lyrics in the summary of the music file, but not all
the options from summary appear.
But you mean that you can see the sentence which they are singing at that moment every time?
I don't think that is possible, but try to contact, who knows they can create it soon,
if they change that and add it in new firmware!
I dont like it to use Windows media player and to synchronise.
In Settings -> System you need to set USB on 'PC Hard Drive'
Then you can use My Computer to find the Movies, just copy and past them in Archos -> Video map. Notice that Archos can't play any movie, you need special extensions.
I kow 1 exension, I convert my movies always in that 1 so Archos can read the movie: AVI MPEG4
There are more, but I need to find out.
Anyway, good luck trying to 'install' video's on Archos and also watch them ;)
Try adding some songs using Windows Media Player. Then on the home screen go to menu-system-system repair tools and reset the temporary settings ( the 1st option on top). Warning:If you have rated your songs the ratings will disapear.
Have you tried to add those files to WMP? In the directory theres an option 'add to library', then you have to select the folder where the movie is in. also Archos cant read DVD extensions, I always convert them to AVI MPEG4, but WMV has to do it well too. I never use that option, because I prefer manually copy past instead of sync. WMP has to convert automatically to WMV when synchronising.
Hope this will work! ;)
