The continuous "tick tick" normally means low power on the device. Means: Case board broken or hdd logic board fault.
Possible solutions: - Try to change usb port and usb cable. - If you have an usb power adapter try to connect it JUST for some seconds to see if the disk spins. Warning: you can burn your disk because the classic usb omputer port use a 500mA max power while an USB A/C normally can offer up to 2000mA. - Buy a cheap 2.5" hdd case and put on it your 160gb hdd because the board of the Apollo could be broken. In this case check before buying if you need a SATA or a PATA interface.
If nothing changes, sorry, your hdd is probably dead.
There are two possible causes for this, one your charger is broken, in which case you will need to buy a new one. Hopefully thats the problem, because the only other possibility is that the Charging port is broken, in which case you will have to send it to Sony to repair. However, there is a work around to the second problem. My psp has the ability to charge via its USB port, if you have a compatible USB cable, connect your psp to your computer and see if that will work.

Sorry about this, your usb port on your psp could be possibly damaged. So you can use a memory stick on your memory card reader to do your data transfer. If you insist on using the usb connection then try seeing a sony repair personnel for this.

Players use standard USB, Mini USB, or Micro USB. I believe the one in title uses Mini USB cable.
To get a replacement cable go to any computer shop or camera shop and buy a Mini USB cable, take the player with you and show it to the shop assistant to ensure you are buying the right cable.
