  • yealc Mar 08, 2009

    I can't access any yahoo sites including my own that is hosted on Yahoo. It has been over 12 hours now.

  • yvonne_253 Mar 17, 2009

    I seem to have access to my Inbox folder and be able to open an e-mail while this new chat function is loading. Unfortuanetly after it is loaded, even when I choose offline, I can't even open my Inbox folder (nor an e-mail).

    The message displayed is that the server is not responding.

    I've never had this issue before the chat function was introduced. Is there any way I can get this function off my profile?

    I have the same problem I can access Yahoo and can see my email in the preview pane but cannot open my email.  It's been 3 days now.

    I am having the same problem still as of 3/21/09 and it started with the arrival of the messenger option. a quick fix if you can get to the inbox is to hold the control key while you click on an email to open it in another window. this seems to work ok until a permanent fix arrives. atleast i can read my emails now!!

I went back to Yahoo mail and clicked on All New Mail. This is found by the Sign out button. In other words, you need to switch from mail classic to the other type that looks like outlook.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I'm trying to access my mail on my phone, but I keep getting a network error. A second message says the remote server is not responding.

Me too, its ok if you use yahoo app instead. I think its to do with the new yahoo mail upgrade. It makes my email program hang so it doesn't check my other accounts. They may have changed the pop address.

Trying To set up yahoo mail in my HTC phone need details

Hi,

You will need adjust the mail application's POP settings to get your Yahoo! Mail messages into it.

POP access is a service for owners of one of the following:

Yahoo! Mail Pop Access & Forwarding

Yahoo! Mail
Plus Premium Services
A Broadband account
A Small Business account

Please note that access to IMAP servers is not available.

To use an email client or application to send and receive Yahoo! Mail messages, you may need to designate a new incoming (POP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server. Consult your owner's manual for instructions on designating servers in the email application.

If you can't add new POP or
SMTP servers, you will need to change your current server settings.

Before you make any changes, write down your current settings. You might need to revert to your original settings later if you decide to send and receive messages from your other email addresses.

The following steps will help you find the POP settings for your Yahoo! Mail account and configure it:

Log onto your Yahoo! Mail account from a PC.

Click Options > Mail Options.
Click POP & Forwarding.
Click Set up or edit POP & Forwarding.
Click POP Settings.

Note your Server Setting information. Your phone email client or application will ask for these settings:

Incoming Mail Server (POP3)- for example, pop.mail.yahoo.com.

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)- for example, smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
Account Name/Username, your Yahoo! Member ID- for example, myuserID.
Email address, your Yahoo! Mail address- for example, myuserID@yahoo.com.
Password, your Yahoo! Mail password- for example, l0ngitudin*l

Notes:

POP server settings may change from time to time and you should confirm the current POP server settings in Yahoo! Mail if it is not working.

When using
Microsoft Outlook, replace the "@" in your address with "%".

As an alternative to configuring Yahoo! Mail POP mail configurations, go to:

http://mobile.yahoo.com/mail

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mobile/...

Enter your phone number and send a link to your phone; the best Yahoo! Mail experience will be suggested to you.
Have a nice day

Access a Free Yahoo! Mail Account with Outlook Express Using YPOPs!

To access a free Yahoo! Mail account with Outlook Express using the YPOPs! desktop utility:

* >> Step by Step Screenshot Walkthrough

* Install YPOPs! and make sure it is running.
* Open Outlook Express.
* Select Tools ' Accounts... from the menu in Outlook Express.
* Click Add and select Mail....
* Type your name.
* Click Next >.
* Enter your Yahoo! Mail address ("hmmzl34@yahoo.com", for example).
* Click Next > again.
* Make sure POP3 is selected under My incoming mail server is a ___ server..
* Enter "localhost" under Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:.
o If "localhost" does not work, try "127.0.0.1" instead.

Setting up Email Acct with Iphone

well to the first person unfortunatly the bellsouth email system is not yet designed to work with the 3g network so you would have to turn that off to use bellsouth.

Also for all of you need to remember that both Yahoo and AOL email work with the IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. It is a method of accessing electronic mail or bulletin board messages that are kept on a (possibly shared) mail server. In other words, it permits a "client" email program to access remote message stores as if they were local. For example, email stored on an IMAP server can be manipulated from a desktop computer at home, a workstation at the office, and a notebook computer while traveling, without the need to transfer messages or files back and forth between these computers.

where as the bellsouth system is a POP system. what the means is that when you check your email client on either the computer or the phone it is actually pulling the mail from the bellsouth server to the respective devices and deleting the email unless you have both set to leave a copy on the bellsouth server.

and again the sending and recieving issues with bell south is due to the 3g network
