I have Windows 7 32bit and a 6200 512 AGP video card. My motherboard has 8X capability and set up properly in the bios. I have downloaded the latest Nvidea drivers for the card and they installed OK. When...

@rick_pere159

The reason for this is that your AGP video card only support DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 (pixel shader and it's operating at 2133 MB/s max - this is how fast it can fill up pixels in a video-game). The reason Windows is rating it low is because Windows tests your card on how many pixel it can shade in a 3-D graphics environment - since VGA operates in a parallel simultaneous transmission, it can only occupy 1 lane with a transfer rate of 2133MB/s at max - which is not bad with a subscore rating of 2.5 which is usually sufficient in the desktop graphics and 3?D graphics categories. In order for you to get a 3.0 and above rating for the video card, you must have a GPU that supports D3D (Direct 3D) v10.0, and pixel shader model 4.0.

Take note that the higher clock speed and pixel shader version of your video card, that faster it will get in 3D acceleration - thus higher video card rating.

Hope this information helps.

My pny 8800 gts is not letting me play any games and frezzes my pc in only 10 secs , but i can still play Dvds and everything else

check to see if your directx is binding to your new card. do this by typing dxdiag into run and hit ok then do the test and see if they pass if not change refresh rate or some settings till the driver rewrites then check again should work. if it passes your games should work. if not call your tech support and ask them how to bind directx to driver.

Problem is the video signal is lost. Computer runs fine, but can't get the picture. Is it overheated or is it shot?

check you directx  binding by typing dxdiag into run then take the test if you pass then it might be taking to much power to run the card . if you did not pass change the refreash rate or other setting till the dirver rewrites this may change the directx binding as the driver rewrites

your card may be pulling to much power check the wattage of the card you power supply should be about 20% higher that your card.also test you direct X by typing dxdiag in run and test it  if it passes it is most likely your power supply to small. if not change your refreash rate and see if the driver will bind to the directx and not to you onboard graphics system the below info is for another card but it may help you

If i open the game, the screen shows very big icons and no image

You are running a low budget onboard chip for graphics. This SiS chip is barely enough for running windows. In order to play any directx or openGL game decently, you will NEED to buy a dedicated graphicscard.

Look for an Ati or Nvidia with 256mb or higher.

BFG - GeForce 7300 GS Graphics Card & my laptop

Hi - Uber - first off - I'm going to answer your question so you could rate this fixed for answering your question. Otherwise please don't rate 'cause helpful just makes my ratings go down. You sure got an eye for a really nice graphics card. I wish I could afford this one for my pc. Unfortunately it is only for desktops. I still can't believe you just picked this one out. This baby rocks. I'm sorry it's not for laptops. Good choice though. There are a few things to cosider when looking to upgrade your card for a laptop: it's more expensive, it usually requires a professional to install, age of the laptop, why you want to upgrade. There may be other ways to improve the performance to get the results you're looking for.
If I've answered your question PLEASE rate this as fixed. If you're going to rate anything else please just don't rate. But I'd appreciate a fixed. If you need more help with this just add a comment or post a question directly to me and I'll be happy to assist you further. Thanks.

Jeff
