Question about Creative Labs ZEN V Plus MP3 Player

Zen V is frozen. Reset just brings back the frozen mode (Album...now playing)

    My Zen frozen when it had the idol shutdown and when i tried to used the reset button it wouldnt work. i think the button is gone from inside the Zen

    This happened to me as well. Turned on the player and got the "playback error". I could not shut the player down. Doing a reset rebuilt the database, briefly showed what I'd been trying to listen to and once again showed the "playback error". When I plug the player into the computer, it is not recognized, so I can't reformat, nor can I get into the recovery mode. Help!

Since the reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

Removing music from my zen


I am also looking for a fast way - the only way I know how is to have it in music mode click on the rectanglular button on the top on the right side this will bring up a new screen then scroll down to delete album - press the big "OK" button in the middle of the largest set of button and it will sloooowwwllly delete the album

My zen touch is frozen. I can push the reset button. It then rebuilds the library and goes to play the same song ever time but does not due anything. It remains frozen and non of the buttons work. John

Start in Safe Mode: hold Reset in and hold Play/Pause in, then turn on. Choosing reboot usually solves this problem.

My Zen mp3 player is stuck or frozen on "Shutting off" mode.


when off hold play down. then turn on(while holding play). then theres a recovery menu go to clean up.

Frozen on album


I stumbled on a knowledge base on the Creative web-site after I had registered the player; maybe this was not available to me previously.
This player has a Reset button sunk into the base. It needs a prod with the end of a paper clip during the boot up. The resultant Recovery menu gives the option to Format the disc which I've done and successfully loaded my music back again. It is now playing very nicely and hopefully will continue to do so.

I hope this info will help others with the same problem. I t appears that the music files can become corrupted very easily.

Remove random play


go back all the way in the menu till you get to the begining and select music library, then go back to play mode and select normal
