Right click on the network connection used to connect your computers and click properties. In the box that says "client for microsoft networks" etc, scoll down and make sure file and printer sharing is checked.

Install the drivers/software for Vista on the Vista machine. Here is the link for drivers and software for Vista. Just scroll down and choose your version of Vista. Will then give you a list of whst they have. They've goot what you need. If you need everything I'd pick the full diver/software packagr.
