You are not stating what type of TV you have. If it is an older CRT or even some older LCD flat screens, it may only have an analog tuner. All TV stations today are broadcasting digital signals and if you do not have a digital tuner in the set, you will need an adapter box to use an antenna with the set. They were widely sold around the time of the analog-to-digital transition, but are harder to find anymore.
Not the tv problems, this problems are the tv stations channels broadcasting tv stations,it is the problems of the tv stations. Some tv broadcasting stations channels are roaring sound some are normal or smaller.Just use the tv volume control + - adjust the tv suomd that all.
Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair
issue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting.
There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're
under warranty, this will cost you nothing. If you're not under
warranty the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor.
However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.

Its the plastic cassing making the noise. If you press the tv together along the edges you will here a crack. Samsung and others did not use 99 cent padding between the plastic and the metal you need cushion padding. Its like not using a gasket or seal. Its a simple fix but the tv companies say its expansion.
The problem with saying my TV is acting up, is you did not mention the model #, type of TV, tube type, projection, plasma, LCD. They all have different faults that can cause this. The first thing you do is to hook up signal to your video inputs if you have any and see if the signal works that way, if so then you probly have a bad tuner, or you cable box is bad.
I would start by trying other codes on the universal remote. Sometimes codes will only work part of the remote such as the numbers or channels but not volume. Your motorola cable remote sounds like it may only need a good cleaning. sometimes when you take remotes apart it will look like somthing got spilt in it. I would start there first.
