My kingston 8gb cards only show 1.87 gb and will

The 'FAT' file-system uses 16-bit arithmetic, and thus is limited to about 2GB in size.
The 'FAT32' file-system uses 32-bit arithmetic, and thus can easily format an 8GB device.

So, be sure to choose 'FAT32'.

Also:
Click Start
Right-mouse click My Computer
Choose Manage
Click Storage
Click Disk Management (local)
Does the card show a 1.87GB "partition", plus 6.13GB of "unused" space?
If so, then delete that "small" partition, and then create a new partition that "spans" the entire 8GB.
Then, FORMAT that partition.

My media player won't recognize that I have deleted all the files on my 8gb mp3 player

Try to format the disk from within windows's - My Computer.

This will delete EVERYTHING on the drive so beware.

Right click on the drive form within my computer, choose format.
Then click on (under filesystem  FAT32)
Then tick the quick format button.
Then click start.

This should reset the device totally.

KINGSTON removable disk error

Find and check real free space go to my computer and right click your driver letter and click properties it will show what is real ammount of disk. For one 4GB file it must not be problem but for meny little file can take more space besider their sum of capacity is 4GB. At format check correct ammount of data "capacity" is 8GB (7.9) also file system for NTFS or FAT32. FAT cant bear 8GB.
