No viewing display on LCD screen

Just got a new Sony A200K. Turned it on. Not displaying a view on the LCD screen of what I want to shoot. Can you only use the viewfinder to take a picture? Hope not!

Push the evf/lcd button and it should work.

If this is a digital slr, then you will need to use the viewfinder. The screen can be toggled with the disp. button. You will see shooting info, but that's it. Also, read the manual to find out how to activate Live View.

The A200 has no Live View function. You have to use the view finder.

Why no display on lcd screen when shooting?

The Display button toggles the information shown on the LCD (or turns it off entirely). Make sure you haven't inadvertently pressed it and turned off the display. It works as follows:

Press once for Normal view in LCD viewfinder
Press twice to turn on Rule of Thirds grid lines
Press three times to turn off LCD display
Press and hold 1 sec. to decrease/increase LCD brightness

How can I see what I am shooting on my LCD display with Live View disabled?

Follow the instructions for Live View. Without Live View turned on, you must use the viewfinder.

Hi dear, you need to see the manual (http://www.retrevo.com/support/FujiFilm-S700-Digital-Cameras-manual/id/2488ag805/t/2/)
Some camera only use viewfinder to shoot photo,The LCD is for setup and display photo only.Because it's off it will save a lot of battery power so that you can shoot more photos.Check it out in the manual.Have FUN!

I have new Canon 500d but i can't work out the LCD screen to display my live view to shoot. The screen displays only the Menu or the Shooting Settings Display. i have the same problems with Rina, Thanks...

I wish you know that you need to press LIVEVIEW button marked red Dot to enter live view mode.
Further more it will work in P,T,A,M modes and video camera modes only.Still it does not show live view the camera has a fault.
If this has solved it don't forget to rate me.

LCD screen not on when camera on?

You hit the EVF/LCD button near the "eye hole". When this is pressed it will cycle viewing through either the optical viewfinder or the LCD screen. This display is controlled independantly on each of the modes: shooting, or viewing. This is so you can set the camera to view pics before taking them from the optical viewfinder and view pics once taken from the LCD or vice-versa.

Canon A75 No startup sound & display on LCD, rest of things works fine

Think it might be your batteries. 700mah batteries are pretty weak by today's standards (most are at least 2,500 mah these days). I'm guessing your batteries are several years old? If so, they're really only meant to have a usable shelf life of a few years, whether they are used or not. Recommend trying a new set of rechargeable batteries.

Multi-Swing

By rotating the display, users can use it to view their subject when taking low-angle, high-angle, and a wide range of other shots. When closed, the multi-swing display also ensures carefree portability by protecting both the lens and the LCD screen. The IR-500 is the first Olympus camera to feature a multi-swing display with 360° rotation capability. It is especially useful in Self Portrait Shooting. The multi-swing display's 360° rotation capability makes it easy to shoot self-portraits as well as other people and scenery. Users can view themselves on the LCD screen while shooting, and use the camera's Self Portrait mode to ensure optimum exposures.
