Hotsync problems with Sony Clie T665C

I have all the necessary upgrades for the Sony Clie, but when I try to hotsync it, I get two different error messages.
The first one comes up on the Palm and says
"The connection between your handlheld computer and the desktop was lost. Some of your data was NOT backed up. Please check your setup and try again."
And the second one comes up on the computer and says
"Read/Write error communitcation with you Palm Handheld. Please restart your media player and try connecting to your Palm Device again. IF this error continues please contact Pocket Tunes Support at www.pocket-tunes.com"

I have restarted my computer, made sure all the necessary connections are made and still nothing. Any ideas?
