Question about Televison & Video

No Power I have a Panasonic (CT-36SX12) TV. When the switch is turn on nothing happens. I suspect the fuse is blown, when I trace the power cord to the circuit card, I can't locate the fuse. If this set has a fuse, where is it located?

All sets must have rated fuse for protection. some units now use what is called a PICO-FUSE.this type of fuse is soldered into the pc board. usually marked with location i.d. F301,F901,F400. etc. these fuses look like resistors or in-line coils. check continuity w/ohm meter. if new fuse blows as soon as you plug in tv, suspect bridge diode ciruit or main filter cap(large ripple filter by main fuse. if new fuse blows when you try to turn on, suspect 130v regulator or high voltage short(horizontal-output, flyback transformer) good luck!

I would check the remote control by taking it out of the room first. If that is not the problem, it is likely to be a dry joint in the power supply that is "arcing" and causing this problem.
Re soldering the heavy components on the power supply board may fix it.

Tv won't turn on at all

no remote but tv was working with front power key? unplug from ac outlet and plug back and listen for any type of indication (noise or chirp) that something energizes inside if theres nothing then suspect a power supply problem, main fuse blown, shorted low volt rectifiers other components could be at fault.

Panasonic HDTV /no power

the loss of power was do to a blown fuse. could not access it through the small opening near where the power cord went in at the back of set.. carefully took the back of just far enough to access the fuse and replaced it. Working fine.

I had the same problem, however mine was a 32inch. It is a blown fuse. It is not the power cord. What you need to do is find out what fuse voltage you need. Hope this advice helps. I have a panasonic model CT-32SX12C.

Checking the 6.3a slo-blow fuse

if you open your tv , you have to put back the board, there are 2  clips
one on left other in the right that keep the board to the case of tv( you have to disconnect  the cable AC before open the tv)
you can see the fuse easely ( if  i remember good there is only one
fuse about near the switch on /off

Tv will not turn on

This set has a common problem with th main fuse opening for no other apparent reason... One of the few exceptions to my corner-stone statement that a fuse is never the cause only a symptom..
Don't replace it though with the same type grade, use a 6.3a slo-blow gma type - available at Radio Shack... Try that and if everything works you're back in business.. If not we nee to find a cause...

Your problem is most likely the thermistor , or degausser, is going bad. It is a little black box with pins and says D1R5M on it. It can be found by following the wire from the degaussing coil around the picture tube. The location number is CF803( i think)the Panasonic partnumber is D4DF1R50001. Also, I believe your fuse is 6.3A not 3.6A.

PANASONIC CT-36SX12 IT FLASHED ON, TURNED OFF, AND NOW DOESN'T WORK AT ALL

If you're lucky, the main fuse just opened up. It takes a 6.3 Amp slow blow type. Otherwise, it could be a defective voltage regulator and related parts in the power supply I would guess.
