Remove & check cartridge message

I have an HP psc 2410 photosmart printer, the screen on it constantly says 'Remove and check print cartridges'. Initially all I did was to replace the coloured cartridge & then I started to get this message. I have done everything I can think of including cleaning both the cartridges & the inside of the printer with wipes. I can't clean it through the pc as it won't communicate whilst this message is there. I've turned it on & off & now it's driving me crazy. Can you help?

Already tried...I did it overnight! Think I've solved it. I took one
out at a time. it appears to be a problem with the black cartridge
which i hadn't touched....most annoying. I repolaced it with the photo
ink cartridge & it worked.Off to get a new black cartridge today.
    Thanks for your help though!

What you could try do is to remove both cartridges, close cartridges cover
Unplug printer for awhile, at least 30 minutes
Plug in printer and wait until printer stop
Reinstall both cartridges
This is to let the printer reset and do a new installation of ink cartridges

Error message "Remove and check color cartridge"

There may be debris that is blocking the communication between the cartridge and the printer. Remove the cartridge and unplug the printer from the power supply. Take a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and wipe off the contacts on the cartridge as well as the contacts inside of the printer. Allow both to dry for a few minutes before plugging the printer back in and re-installing the cartridge. This should clear up any miscommunication between the two.

Get "remove and check print cartridges" on printer, a new black cartridge has been replaced but still get same message.

Hi,

Is the new black cartridge that you fitted made by HP?
If it is not I would try with a new HP cartridge, I would also try replacing the colour cartridge.

I get the message "remove and check print cartridge" on my hp 2410 printer. I Replaced the black cartridge and still the same. I do not use color and have had cartridge in for a couple of years. Any way...

I don't think so. Printers usually won't print unless it can detect both cartridges. It doesn't matter whether the colour one is empty or full, as long as it can detect it you can usually still use black.

Try taking out the cartridges and blot the bottom of the cartridge with paper towel wetted with warm water.Repeat several times. While the cartdigdes are out, use the eraser end of a pencil and gently clean the contacts in the carriage and then clean the contacts of the ink cartridges.
