Question about Canon imageCLASS D760 All-In-One Laser Printer

Paper jams right before it exits copier

Canon Imageclass D761. The paper jams right before it can exit the copier. I pull out the toner drum and it appears there is a ''plate'' sticking up slightly and the paper stop against it. My guess is that this ''plate'' is supposed to be underneath something so the paper will pass right over it. Any solutions or comments?

I have the same problem. Had it repaired ($150.00) and it happened again six weeks later. They now say something has to be replaced that costs over $400.00. Best to get a new one. Shopping for it now, but hoping for a different solution to this one as we liked it a lot.

If the plate looks solid, then it's probably right where it should be. It sounds like a sort of ramp that feeds the paper into the fuser.
Start with the paper itself. Make sure it is in the machine properly. Here is a short guide on a few things to check:

I've had several paper jams in the last few days. After the third one today, I cleared the jammed paper & I can't get it to reset. I unplugged & re-plugged, etc.

this sounds like the timing sensor has been dislodged or damaged this happens when the paper is pulled out against the natural travel path of the paper. look for a broken off sensor flag or a flag that does not move frreely. if the paper is jamming close to exiting the printer check the fuser sensors for free movement. if its stopping more around the toner check the sensor above where the paper first comes out of the drawer. knowing where it jams would be of great help. hope this helps you

WHAT IS THE FUSER ASSEMBLY? hOW CAN i REMOVE PAPER JAM?

This is near the exit area right before copy exits into the tray or sorter It appiles heat and pressure to the copy as it goes between the upper and lower fuser rollers so that the toner melts into your copies and won"t rub off keeping the image from smearing Often the copies will be warm--this is normal.

Paper is all wrinkled and jammed up just before exit...can't pull it out and no access. Different than a "regular" ppr jam

In most cases, it's easier to pull the jammed paper if you turn the printer OFF and the pull the paper VERY SLOWLY
