These were some of the best CD writers/players of their time. Unfortunately they are out of production and this model does not have an after marked CD drive available. They can be cleaned (have you tried a disk cleaner? They work great!) and if you can find someone with a used laser lens then the laser lens cab be replaced, which is usually the problem, but not the entire unit. With such a prestige unit you may want to have a shop do this for you.

The A100 has some features that the A90 doesn't, but it costs more. It depends on whether those features are worth the extra price. I'd personally be happy with either one.
