Put some water in the ice maker and see if it will kick a batch out. If it does make a batch but does not make any more then replace the water valve. NOTE: the water valve is a dual purpose valve that supplys water in the door and supplys the ice maker. If the ice maker does not kick out a batch then something is wrong with the ice maker. One easy component to replace is the ice mold thermostat.

If the ice maker is not refilling with water after its last harvest that points to the=> W10408179 Water Inlet Valve. If the ice maker just sits there with ice and does not empty into the ice bucket we will need to test the 4389102 Ice Level Control
Instructions on how to test can be found HERE If you have something else happening here please let me know, Sea Breeze
If the ice maker is not refilling with water the side of the water control valve that fills the ice maker is defective and you will still get water from the dispenser. The parts I listeed above are for your GS6SHAXLS03 refrigerator.

Whirlpool GS6NBE side by side ice maker works fine but the ice dispenser doesn't. I can hear a sound and a click when I push it and the dispenser flap works but no ice will come out. Water works fine.

The four prong (flat) plug to the ice maker (in the freezer compartment) in my Whirlpool Gold SbyS Refrigerator; should I be able to test for 120 Volts with a tester, should this plug be 'HOT"?

ICE MAKER

Your ice maker works off a different side than the water dispenser. Most times the water control valve is the problem yet it has 2 sides one for water and the other for ice. You can check the ice maker by filling with tap water. Let it freeze and if it dumps the ice and tries to refill I would say the water control valve part number 4389177 will need to be replaced. Whirlpool Gold Side by Side Refridgerator GS5SHAXNTOO "Not" making Ice

this is a very broad problem. you have issues with your ice maker. it could be the solenoid that supplies water to it. it could be turn off, it could be the laser sensor malfunctioning. it could be the receiver of the laser. it could be the gear that harvest ice is froze up. or the heater to melt the ice if it has one has gone bad. or it could just be a stuck ice that would not come out of the ice maker.

you can remove your ice maker, thaw it up if there is ice in the tray. then install it back and observe.

Whirlpool gold ice maker problem

  • The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
  • Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees.
  • In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering.
  • note: The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.

Ice and water dispenser

Has someone pressed the lock button on the front of the fridge just above the dispenser, next to the crushed & not crushed ice button, if so there is also an unlock button next to it.
