When you say it will not come back on, do yo mean the lamp or the machine.
If you mean the machine, it is possible the door switch protection circuit has caused the problem. remove screws and take of cover look for a fuse inside the machine it can be anywhere.
I know companies that charge £100 for this minor repair

GE microwave blowing fuse when cook cycle starts.

James,
You might have a problem with one of the micro-switches in the door sequence. If one of the micro-switches has gone bad, it usually causes a short and that is what blows the fuse. If you have access to a meter, you can check the continuity of each switch and figure out which one is bad and replace it. Just remember to unplug your microwave before attempting any repairs. Usually, there are 3 switches and 2 of them usually are normally open switches and the 3rd is a normally closed switch. Hope this helps!

Fan blows when doors open

Hi,
One of the three door switches has failed and will need to be replaced. You would need to access behind the control panel to check them and or replace it. Good luck

Fuse blow when door opens

I would replace the light bulb. If the fuse still blows, then it is going to have to be the door switch.

Have a GE microwave for three months bought it brand new and wife was making potatoes in it opened door to check on them and then closed door to continue cooking and it continues to count down but light...

The door switches are slightly out of alignment. If you run the microwave and shift the door up or down, the micro might begin working..
The control panel must be removed and the door switches adjusted. I would not suggest you doing this yourself, as it may affect the microwave leakage through the door gap.

GE microwave won't turn off

Just checked the GE website. Had the same problem with my 5 year old microwave. GE website says to close and open the door quickly three times. First time I did this it didn't work. Second time I closed the door with some significant force and reopened it more quickly. Worked. Unplugged the microwave, plugged it back in, still fine.

Ge microwave oven jes1288 light bulb replacement

ba380c4.jpg

The light bulb assembly (bulb and socket are all one piece) is part number
WB36X951.

It is located on the air duct assembly where the door switches are mounted.

You can see an exploded view diagram here.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb assembly.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

See these links before proceeding:
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

If you're not able to find the bulb assembly at your local appliance parts store, you can order one here.

GE XL1800 Micro fan won't shut off after light burned out

The problem appears, at least in part, to the door latch circuitry which cannot be serviced by the owner. If the unit is still in warranty, call GE customer care. If not, replacing the unit is your best bet. I just bought a new GE 1100 watt oven with great features for less than $100 If the door dosen't latch correctly, you could be exposed to dangerous microwave energy.

Where do I find the fuse?

yes you do and this is not reall advisable as there is high voltage components inside.thre is normally a fault with the machine if it blows a fuse.if you want to still try then make sure yoiu unplug it and short the plug on some metal to get rid of any stored charge.the main things to blow a fuse is the door switches sticking, the bulb blowing or a fault with the high voltage system which you would need a special multimeter to yest, hope this helps
