Question about Dell Vostro 1000 Notebook
The Dell Vostro 1000 comes with a VGA connection only. I wish to playback films etc through a Panasonic Viera television with an S Video connection. I have purchased a VGA to S Video conversion cable but the laptop refuses to recognise the attached television (tapping F8 simply gets a No external display attached message). I have also tried changing the Display Settings in the Control Panel but again the laptop does not recognise that an external display is attached. Any ideas gratefully received.
You're right, RescueTechLA, but I think most Dell laptops use FN+F8.

Are you sure it's "F8" only? Usually most laptops use the FN+F5 to change video to external display.
