After drying a down coat with a tennis shoe in the dryer to fluff the down, my dryer drum stopped turning. It will heat but won't turn. What would you suggest?
Yes, I can hear the motor running. The dryer is an electric dryer, if that makes a difference.Yes, I can hear the motor running. The dryer is an electric dryer, if that makes a difference.

As silly as this seems, did you make sure the door is completely closed. This is a common problem when drying tennis shoes. One time when I was living in an apt. complex, I went to check on my laundry, and my shoes were lying on the floor (with a couple of other fabrics). I then stood by and watched the remainder of the cycle, and next thing you know - the door opens up and throws out my shoes. Never would've believed it unless I seen it with my own eyes. I would turn everything off, and then go through your regular routine. If this doesn't work, feel free to contact me - and we can go to Plan B...:) Good Luck to you, Jim
bad heater box fuse, get the model number from inside the dryer door, and go to your local appliance parts store and give them the number and they will get you a thermal fuse kit, remove the back of dryer and you will see the heater box on the right side
The belt probably broke, and coincidentally happened while drying the shoes. The belt is easy to replace. Open the back and you'll probably see the belt laying on the bottom
Have you husband do a visual inspection of the drum and literally feel it to see if anything is caught or stuck on the drum. The motor also may have something caught in it as well. This would be the motor that turns the drum.
Problem solved! We read on here about someone else addressing the AF code by removing the back panel and fixing the pully that had come off. Belt was fine, with pully back in place dryer now works perfectly again. Thank you for saving us so much time and money!
