Question about Onkyo TX-SR501 Receiver
I have a onkyo tx-sr501E home theatre amplifier and I fase problem with its memory settings. They are lost after power unpluging!
do you have any idea apart from having amplifier power pluged every time?
thanks in advance
try to connect the receiver to a tv via the monitor out from the receiver to the tv. you may be able to see the OSD (on screen display of your settings) change the function on that to turn on the front display. alternatively look on your remote to see if you can turn up the light of the front display.
if these don't work possible that the light of the display has blown.

The standby light should be on. If it is not, then check the main fuse. WIth the unit unplugged, remmove hte top cover and check the fuse by the line cord. If that is ok, then you will need to check the primary winding on the standby transformer. That transformer has a thermal fuse internally located and that sometimes gets blown due to a power surge. If you do not have the equipment to test this, get a detailed estimate from a local servicer. The standby transformer usually costs arounf $25 or so.
