I had the same problem with mine, that is, when I answered the phone, I couldn't hear any sound coming out of the ear piece.
My problem was solved when I sprayed "Tuner/Control Cleaner and Lubricant", on the button switch that hangs the phone up. This switch is found in the cradle located under the hand set when the phone is not in use. I sprayed the cleaner around the space located around button and worked the button up and down for a minute or so before it started working well.
The Archer brand Tuner/Control cleaner and lubricant I used came from a Radio Shack store here but I don't know if you have Radio Shacks in Germany or not. If not I'm sure you could find a like product in any electronic supply store there.
My phone now works perfectly, hope it works for you too!!!

My base phone from KX-TG6841 works fine but if I call Europe it doesn't ring there and I don't hear the people answering.

And you dial the correct country code, with a 00xx? the xx stands for the country code, like 32 for Belgium or 49 for Germany.
A call to Germany starts with 0049.

How do I change the extension name on the display of NEC DT700?

Default code on an SV8100 system for name is SPEAKER, 700, takes you to extension label, press HOLD to bypass and get to name, type name using dial pad with * and # as move left or right, then SPEAKER to write and exit. These phones work on several systems. The codes for the 8300 and 8500 are different. Hope this was yours.

Caller ID is not working

Hello Samiran mandal, here is a solution.I purchased one cordless telephone (Siemens Gigaset) in Germany. I also had the same problem, caller-id did not work. I purchased this telephone because we can set different ringtones for different caller groups. But, if caller-id doesn't work, this feature also doesn't work. I had gone through internet and finally found that CA electronics, Bangalore has it and got it through courier (I live in Pondicherry). It worked flawlessly for two years. Then it stopped working. For 'no reason' I ordered for a 'caller-id' unit on ebay for Rs.75/- (+ Rs.75 shipping). I just got the unit and fixed it to my line. Very very surprisingly, my cordless telephone is now showing caller info. This is a real surprise to me. By the way, caller-id unit is "Eurotel" make, DTMF/FSK caller-id. I feel this is very nice solution. The 'caller-id' unit is nice (backlit display) and also there is no need of converter for using the caller-id feature of your foreign telephone. I connected caller-id between the line and telephone. That's all. Enjoy.

Changing a display name

it depends on the phone system type. The name changes are done in programming mode. But to enter programming varies by system. You need tech support.

I'm trying to change the name on a mailbox and it still keeps showing the name of the person who had it before.

I guess you did not change it in the right way. It would help to know what system you have. Normaly through the system administration hit the change at the right mailbox and change the name. I hope this will help. Istvan
