Question about SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ62048A10 Hard Drive
My USB Drive is not detected by the computer. On connecting, the light blinks for 3-4 times and then goes off. In device manager under USB Mass Storage Device a yellow exclamation mark appears besides this. ON updating the driver the computer says that latest drivers are already installed. Please suggest
I have this happen regularly with many USB drives,
not just Sandisk Cruzers. Sometimes removing it, waiting a few
moments, and reattaching it (making sure to insert it straight, not at
a funky angle, which can result in a confused system due to momentarily
not being properly connected) does the trick. Rarely, I've had to
reboot because the confusion wasn't so easily forgotten by the system.
Sometimes, I've noticed that plugging it into a different USB port does the trick, so if you have multiple ports available, try that too.
On Linux, with one particular USB drive, if I boot with it already in the port it works, otherwise, it has all sorts of random issues. Perhaps keep that in mind if none of the rest helps... though I would call that a malfunction, since only one of my drives exhibit that behavior, and considering it triggers unnecessary check-disk requests under Windows, perhaps that's a sign to toss that one.
Hope these ideas give you the tools to figure out what your unit likes. Funny how some of them develop 'personalities'...

Don't forget to rate the overall satisfaction of this solution.
Remove the device by Right mouse click the device and select Uninstall.
Then Scan for hardware changes by clicking on the icon in the top menu that looks like a computer with a magnify glass.
Then close all of that out and then; Go Start> Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Computer Management Select Disk Management under Storage Look to see if your Drive is listed and what the Status, Layout, Type, and File System it has.
Right mouse click on the dive and click on Explore to see if your files come up. If yes, then perform a Change Drive Letter and Path.
