Question about La Pavoni Europiccola EPC-8 Espresso Machine

Adding pressure gauge to Pavoni Europiccola

I would like to add a pressure gauge to my Europiccola similar to what comes on the Pavoni Professional. It would seem that, for starters, I just need to replace my sight glass cap screw with the sight glass gauge nut that comes with the Professional. Yet I see indications on different web sites that, although this may have been possible with older Europiccolas, the sight glass cap screw size was changed on newer Europiccolas specifically to prevent this change. Out of curiosity, I contacted one Pavoni parts supplier and asked if the size of the sight glass cap screw has changed over time and asked if there were different versions of this screw. The response, while somewhat vague, indicated the size has not changed over the years. If this is true, it would seem the Professional pressure gauge nut should fit into my Europiccola, making the addition of a pressure gauge possible. What can you tell me about this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  1. in the boiler water is heated and presured up to 1.5 bar
  2. when water gets in lever and non return valve closes becouse you press the lever down, your energy is used to get high pressure, it should be frpm 7 up to 9 bar.
  3. SOLUTION==if you search way for modifying, you must consider that you must pump directly to group, not to boiler. in this case water will be cold (becouse comes from pump). you will need boiler in boiler to heat the water wich comes from pump before it gets to group. this is bit more complicated than you thought may bee but it is only solution.

First Cup Is Cold From La Pavoni Europiccola

If the machine works great after the first cup then it is possible that the heat for your first espresso went to heating the portafilter or the cup used to brew into, try warming the portafilter first by running some hot water through it first.
