So you have a restore disk? when you reinstall are you just doing a repair?
i would boot from the repair disk and delete all partitions ( C drive) and then recreate a new partition in the entire free space and then format that partition using NTFS and then reinstall windows

Download, install and run Malware Bytes to do a little cleanup first (if the machine will let you).

You may need to disable your antivirus program to do your recovery also.

My laptop has several viruses and cant connect to internet to download anti-virus software

First you need to remove virus from your laptop.
A safe way to remove virus is to use a bootable antivirus CD (containing the latest definitions) to scan the drive. Alternatively, you can attach the drive to a friend's computer that has an antivirus installed (with the latest updates) and perform a full disk scan.

Hi, When I try to log in my Toshiba Tecra A9 stops loging into Windows and starts logging off and says saving your settings! Thnx Orror

This is normally caused by a virus or bad winlogon file, if you have a windows cd you can boot from the cd and using the recovery options you should be able to run a system restore this will restore the computer to an earlier time and most likly resolve the issue for a while, if it is virus based the core of the virus will still be there and you have to to run a full antivirus system. Hope this helps you

The only thing that comes up is a Red Cross Antivirus window, cant seem to remove it. I already have an antivirus downloaded.

Red Cross Antivirus is a rogue anti-virus program that is installed via the Fake Microsoft Security Essentials Alert Trojan. This rogue is installed via a fake Microsoft Security Essentials alert that states you are infected and then prompts you to install 1 of 5 rogues, including Red Cross Antivirus. When the program is installed it will reboot your computer and start before you see the Windows desktop. It will then scan your computer and state that there are numerous infected files found, but will state that it will not be able to clean some of them as it requires the heuristics module in order fix them. In order to activate this heuristic module you will need to first purchase the program. This is a scam, though, as none of the files it states are viruses are actually infected.
Go to TrendMicro.com and run a free online virus scan to eliminate this rogue.

System has a virus mbr invected by bloodhpund.mbr how do I delete this. I purchased Norton 2010 but it won't remopve the problem says it needs to be installed but can't get into system to install.

You're Acer probably has Rescue and Recovery™ installed. Rescue and Recovery is a suite of self-recovery tools to help you diagnose, get help, and recover your system.

When you set the Bloodhound heuristics in Norton AntiVirus to it's highest setting you probably ran a virus scan and saw a Norton AntiVirus alert that states that it's detected a potential threat, Bloodhound.MBR. But this is probably not a virus but the recovery software on your laptop.

Solution:

If you have IBM Rescue and Recovery and Norton AntiVirus Bloodhound heuristics are configured to the highest setting, Norton AntiVirus may alert you with a Bloodhound.MBR detection when you run a virus scan. To avoid this, configure your Bloodhound heuristics to the default setting.

To reset Bloodhound to the default setting
  1. Start Norton AntiVirus.
If Norton AntiVirus was installed as part of Norton Internet Security or Norton SystemWorks, then start one of those programs.
  2. Click Options.
If you see a submenu, then click Norton AntiVirus.
  3. Click Auto-Protect.
  4. Click Bloodhound.
  5. Click Default level of protection (recommended).
  6. Click OK
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for Manual Scan.
In step 3, substitute Manual Scan for Auto-Protect.
  8. Exit Norton AntiVirus.

34 viruses

You must have got them in wholesale? Do you not use any anti virus program? Now, whatever you do you will not be able to remove all of them as if you download any antivirus program, even that will get infected and will cause auto infection.
What you can do is to attach this laptop to a network and then access it with the networks antivirus system and clean up your laptop. Tough but only solution. Then you must install an anti virus package. If you cant afford to buy one then go to www.download.com and download AVG, the No 1, free, antivirus program.
If you cant do it on the network then, I am sorry to say, you will have to reinstall Windows as new, formatting the hard disk.

Virus & Trojans??? Help removing everything and starting all over???

Insert a CD restore and turn on the computer >> follow the instruction of the CD.
If you dont have a CD restore, after Boot hit F8 and start windows on "Safe Mode"
and se what it is going wrong there.

Probably you have set your system on hibernate mode - In that case go to Control panel >> Power options >> Hibernate >> uncheck the mark (hiberbate)

Toshiba sattelite L20

Remove the RAM or memory module of the unit. Let it rest for a minute. Plug it back and try to do re-installation again.

Hope this helps.
