Question about Miele Novotronic T1515A Electric Dryer
I own a Miele Novotronic T1515 electric dryer. We bought this as a set with our Miele washer but it never seemed to dry well. Had it serviced a long time ago under warranty and nothing checked out as defective. The dryer doesn't seem to get hot enough. Recently, as a test, we allowed the dryer to vent into our basement to dry three bath towels. I set the dry to 'cottons-extra dry and it took over an hour to dry. The vent discharge flowed well but was barely warm. I am not an appliance repair person but have repaired my own washers and dryers in the past. I can read wiring diagrams and have electrical testing equipment. I double checked the electrical voltage at the plug/receptacle and it checked fine (240/1/60). I understand that the dryer probable has thermostats and moisture sensors along with the heating element but have no idea how to check them. Is is simply a matter of swapping out a thermostat? Are there publications out there that may give me some guidence? Thx

on each side of the lid at the front there is a plastic white cover. remove this with your fingers or a small knife. then using a T20 screw driver unscrew each screw a few turns and then push the screw heads in with your finger. do not unscrew the screws too far or remove them.
last push the lid back a few inches and it will lift off. once off you will see the locking clips that you just unscrewed which hold the lid down. when re-fitting the lid do the reverse and just tighten up the screws.

first check for 240 volts input on the unit if its electrically heated if you have no heat at all, then if you have some heat but it cycles on and off heat wise and the heat isn't as high as it should be,it can be the high-limit thermostat, the cycling thermostat both on the element housing,or it can also be a thermistor sensor on the blower housing if it only acts up on certain settings, you can bypass the 2 components on the element by jumping the wires on the components carefully together temporarily to see if this helps the heating cycle, but not the thermistor,as this is a resistance sensor
