Hi, In my HT setup I own a pair of Definitive Technology BP8's for front, a Def Tech C1 for the centre and a pair of Def Tech BP1X's for the rear. So far I have to admit I'm really happy with the sound, though I would like to get the extra depth which a sub would put out. At the moment I'm looking at staying with the Def Tech range and was wondering if anyone owned any Def Tech subs? PF12? PF15? etc.How have they found them? Any recommendations?
Also what prices are being had around the place? (Australia that is)
I am in the market for a sub too (budget $750 Canadian or $500US), and my local dealer has recommended Paradigm PDR10 and Def Tech ProSub100. I have found lots of reviews and write ups on the Paradigms, but hardly anything on the Def Techs. They both sound good in the show room, but I am leaning towards the Def Techs primarily because of space (it is 3" less wide than the Paradigm counterpart which is important as I promised my wife I would hide it behind the couch). This sub is usually mated to Def Tech's complete 6 speaker HT package (Pro Cinema 100 I think), which has small satellites. My mains are floor standing KEF Q35'sanyone have any good/bad experience with Def Tech subs in general? I am confident in Paradigm quality, but need some reassurance about Def Tech. thanks.

I have BP10s all around with a C/L/R 2000 for the center and a PF1500 for the sub. With your system, you definitely need a sub (you might even consider or at least try setting all speakers to small after you get the sub).
Anyway, I would definitely recommend a Def Tech sub (it's cool 'feeling' the bass). The only problem I had was it would produced a hum, but this was easily solved by simply plugging it into the same power outlet as the rest of the components (and I mean the 'same' outlet, like via a surge protector power strip, and not a different outlet on the same circuit - that doesn't work).
Basically pick the one within your budget. The PF1500 (250W) is no longer available. It was replaced with the PF15TL and PF1500TL both with 325W amps for less cost. The PF1500TL has the same glossy black top as the PF1500 (and BP10s and I think the BP8s). The PF15TL doesn't have the glossy black top (there is apparently no other difference).
Sorry, I have no idea what they might sell for in Australia. In the US, the PF1500 was $1100, the PF15TL is $699 and PF1500TL is $899 (but usually can be had for around 10% less than that). I think you would be happy with either of those. (Oh, and these units are heavy.)
