It sounds like someone accidentally pressed the reset button on the back of the router. If so try using the login "admin" and the password "password" to log in. If this doesn't work you can reset the router by pressing the reset button and it will restore to the factory default of "admin" and "password" but it will also reset all settings so you may have to set up your router again.

Firstly log into your router from your computer. If you don't know the username and password, try the default one which is Username: admin Password: Admin. Check under Wireless setting and you will see the current password listed there. You can change it to a new one if required. Just remember to save after you've done any changes.

Got a second computer want hook my d link router wbr 2310 back up but don't remember the username or password I created 4 years ago

From the first computer, use Internet Explorer to access the built-in web-server inside the router.
Set a new ID/password.

Or, straighten one end of a Norwegian paper-clip, and insert it into the small hole in the back of the router, to "reset" the router back to its "factory-settings".
Then, reconfigure your wired & wireless networks.

I have a 21 letter/number password for my Linksys-G 2.4ghz router

Is there any computer online using the router.
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
router set up page is the page where you can check all the router settings.

How can I use my router if I don't know my password? I have pushed the restore factory settings button but I used this router like 3 years ago and I don't remember what my password was. its a netgear

If you did a hard reset, there is no password. If it is not working now, it probably will not work.

Sorry to be the bearer of sad tidings.

Forgot password to add new computer to router

Hi!

Press the reset button for 10 seconds. It set the factory default
settings. The router will erase all information, the DSL settings too.

After that you can login in with the default password, via web
interface:

http://192.168.1.1

username: admin
password: admin

The default username and password is admin/admin.
I hope it hekos.

New laptop can not connect to Di-524 router

connect the router to pc via a ethernet cable, then there should be a reset pin hole on the back, press this, the router will restart and clear the password, restart pc next, then type in the routers address again and you should connect.

You can then remove the cable and connect using the wireless connection
