E-bay page not working properly

When I bring up an item to check out on e-bay. it takes 45-60 seconds to bring up the item. Even when I scroll down the page of items the page will often stop, the hour glass will come up & take those 45 seconds to disappear. Also at top of page it says microsoft not responding. this only happens on my e-bay---not any other web site. PLEASE HELP---Barbara

I am having the same problem. Only with ebay. I can go on the Internet and those pages work just fine. It is really aggravating on ebay. I restored my computer back to just like when you bring it home and I am still having the same problem with ebay. I have deleted my temporary internet files, cache, etc. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this as I can't afford to take my computer somewhere to get it fixed. I am wanting to sell on ebay but not at the slow speed I am getting. Thanks, Terrea

Hey,

This seems to be a problem on your computer, I think you will have to get someone to look at it to see what the problem is, I can't really say over the internet what it is, I could guess.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

How to cancel an PayPal e-cheque from e-Bay

If you do not have sufficient funds in your PayPal account for e-Bay items that you have paid for using the e-Bay interface PayPal will raise a direct debit aka an e-cheque that works in a similar way to a normal cheque, in that it will take 5-7 working days to clear, however there are several differences here is a list of a PayPal e-cheque status as seen in e-Bay.
  • Cleared: The funds transfer to the recipient has completed
  • Uncleared: The transaction is still processing from the bank
  • Failed: We were unable to obtain the funds from your bank and the payment to the recipient has not completed
  • Canceled: You have cancelled the eCheque. If you cancel an eCheque the funds will still be withdrawn from your bank account but will be credited to your PayPal account balance

NOTE: Only the seller can cancel the e-cheque using their PayPal account when logged in goto:

Go to Account Overview > History > Find the relevant payment > Details > Cancel Payment under 'Cancel this eCheque payment' > Review the information and include a message to buyer > Cancel Payment.

You will not have the option on yours, if you want to cancel it yourself you will need to do so via your online banking, or if this is not possible telephone banking can be used.

If you receive PayPal funds during the this time and want to send the seller's money sooner for your items, here is a tested method that will work;

Pay directly using PayPal to the e-mail acount of the seller, note you must click payment for goods not e-Bay in your PayPal account, its a good idea to send a message inlcuding the long e-Bay item number and also ask the seller to cancel the e-cheque using their PayPal account, they will see that you have sent the correct funds instanlty

Summary:
To avoid lengthly transactions I suggest that you make sure that you have a buffer or about £30 in your PayPal account that is attached to your e-Bay shop, it only takes 2/3 working days to send from your verified bank account, if you also add a direct debit card you can avoid using e-cheques as they will never been generated by PayPal, if you ever phone PayPal you will need to quote your 6 digit ref number you will find this @ https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/helpscr?cmd=_contact-phone

OR if you just want a quick chat contact Louise on virtual chat @ https://www.paypal-virtualchat.eu/uk/

What is second chance? I sold and item and it came up second chance.

Second chance means you can give the other people that placed a bid on your item a chance to bay it at the price they interred when they bid if you have another one to sell . Second chance can also be used if winning bidder does not pay.

How to pay for items on ebay

When you buy an item on E-bay the seller states what forms of payment he will accept. Most sellers prefer to be paid using Pay-Pal, but will accept money orders and some will also acept personal checks. If you want to pay by money order or personal check you will have to send the seller a message (On E-Bay use "Ask Seller a question") asking for his postal address. If you mail a personal check, they probably will not ship your item until your check clears their bank.
Pay-Pal is the fastest way to pay. You will have to open a Pay-Pal account. To do this click on Pay-Pal on the E-Bay website and fill out the application.

How do I sell some thing on E-Bay? what is needed and what steps do I have to take?

Go to http://ebay.com and click on the the heading SELL in the upper right. This is a pull down menu. I suggest that you read each heading through to familiarize yourself with selling. You will read how to open an account, how to pay your fees, how to receive payment for an item and how to list an item, post a phot etc.. Ebay has a great selling system and easy instructions to follow.

Good luck to you and Thank you for using FixYa.
