OK. Got the model number (part of it is scratched out) then went looking for a manual at whirlpool; and it's so old, there are none (fridge states made in 1989) Ugh! This is bad cause we really need it right now (living out of dorm size) I need to fix washer, too and so I'll keep looking for the answers on both. What I can read is 14dcxvl01, and I can't find the a underneath either; so it can't be fan noise- it's loud. I can't seem to be positive the noise is coming from the compressor. The guy who gave it to us said he had it quiet, so how do I do it? The rubber gromets don't look bad, but how do I know and where do I go to get them? Thank you sooo much for your help! If you can help me with this one, we'll go to the washing machine (won't spin, everything else fine) and I'll give you TWO "Fixed Its"! lol Thanks again, I'll check back in a few to see if you responded, or do I go to your icon? I'm tryin! lol

The model and serial number are usually located on one of the inside walls of your box. The condenser fan you are looking for is underneath the box. You might have to take some screws out from the back side of your fridge to access the fan, and coil. The coil must be clean for proper heat rejection. If you want to calculate the cubic feet multiply the hieght, width, and depth together. For instance a fridge that is 7ft tall x 3ft wide x 3 ft deep would be 63 cubic feet.

Dose anyone have a owners manual for a true refidgerator GDM-12

The fan your referring to is the condensor fan. it should not be tight to turn. it should spin freely. if it is hard to turn, its probably stuck, which is why its not spinning. Remove grill, slide the nottom portiom out so you have access to fan, remove fan blade, and spraylubricant on fan motor (around the area that the screw that held blade). Remove hair, dirt, string, or anything else that might be prevrnting fan from spinning. sometimes its easier to burn it off. If fan still doesnt spin you may have to replace fan motor.r

Frozen water in the refrigerator

This has to do with the temperature control, or cold control as they may call it, in the refrigerator. This is located in the refrigerator part of the machine. Write down the model and serial number wich is located in the refrigerator, and contact a parts distributor, I use apdepot, and ask for a cold control, or fresh food thermostat. This will fix your problems, good luck!!

If you meant the deffrsot timer it is normally kept at the bottom near to the compressor unit, check for wiring to the heaters and the compressor cut off relay.

Is the fan on the back, by the condensor, blowing? You could use in your area and see if someone has a slightly used machine if you are willing to pick, you'd be surprised what you can find there.

It was working but stopped blowing cold air.

There is a concealed fan that serves to distribute the cooled air between the two cabinets and 'stir' it to avoid cold spots and that fan isn't running currently.
Go to the link below and enter your full model number to see if Sears has an illustrated breakdown of your Roper. This will show you where the fan is located and you can then decide if you want to DIY or call a pro.

Freezer works - refrigerator does not

evap fan between the two units is more than likely out. What this fan does is use the cooling from the freezer to cool the fridge. This fan is located in the space between the freezer and fridge and has vent slots in front of it for the transfer of the coolong from the freezer. This fan is more than likely on the same channel as the temp control setting for the fridge. To remove the fan motor you will need to remove that moulded channel and as soon as the channel is off presto there is the fan. Take model # and serial # to an appliance parts store for replacement. Good Luck hope this helped you

Replace the mother board. (it's the board you heard clicking) The only thing you hear running are fans. Check your model and serial number with your parts supplier, as you may be able to get the board free. (only certain models / serial numbers qualify)

Roper Freezer doesn't cool adequately

. The most common problem is a bad start relay on the compressor. In rare cases the compressor may be bad. If you are mechanically inclined you can replace the relay yourself for less than 50 dollars. You will need model and serial number off of the unit and order the part by those numbers. if the compressor is bad you will need to hire a good service company

  • On Plate Lower Front Or Rear Of Cabinet
  • Beside Compressor Door On Right End
  • Near Rear Of Cabinet
  • Inside Liner At Top
  • I think your refrigerator has a defrost timer and this may be the problem, Let me know what you find, Thanks, Sea Breeze
