Sounds like your 12volt permanent to the radio is down check the fuse and connection to the radio if there is no permanent to the radio it will lose the memory every time you turn the car off. If it is a new installation check that the permanent and ignition wire are going to there respective wires on the unit.

I have a 97 toyota tocoma ext.cab. and am putting in my new cd player although my wires are not the same colors could you tell me what wires i need to match

Hello... I will try and help you with your problem. I am assuming that you have cut the factory harness off in the truck? If you have and you can reconnect it, I would recommend doing this and then you can purchase a wire harness adapter and then just match the colors. The benefit in using an adapter harness is the ease of the installation, and the more you change the radio in the truck, the shorter the wires will get. If you do not have the factory harness, or cannot reconnect the old one, here is the hardwire code:

Wire purpose: Truck color: Alpine harness:
Constant 12V+ Blue/Yellow Yellow Switched 12V+ Gray Red Ground Brown Black Illumination Green N/C Dimmer n/a N/C Antenna Right Front Front Speakers 6 1/2" Doors Left Front (+) Pink White Left Front (-) Purple White/Black Right Front (+) Light Green Gray Right Front (-) Blue Gray/Black Rear Speakers 6 1/2" Rear Corners Left Rear (+) Black Green Left Rear (-) Yellow Green/Black Right Rear (+) Red Purple Right Rear (-) White Purple/Black

Hope this helps!

Sounds like it's overheating. Does this unit have a small fan in the back? If so, does it work, or is the airflow blocked? Also, you can get 'steam' on the disc when coming in or out of the cold with it.

My car cd player stopped working, Please anyone with information!

sometimes its easier just to take it all back out and re-wire it step-by-step. i know sometimes one or two wires might be mixed up (positive going to negative). also, check your power wire, (either black or red) and make sure its tight . green - ground wire - check to see if its tight. power wire - usually has a fuse block attached - check the fuse. somestimes when you tape wires they may come apart - i always put on wire-nuts, better connection.
hope this helps!

2002 malibu wiring diagram?!?!?!?!?!?!

ok, the red and yellow wires serve 2 different purposes.the yellow supplies constant power to your stereo, and the red is switched power. what youve done is combine the two, and connect them to a constant power source. like this, your stereo wont be switched with your ignition. so take off the red wire, but leave the yellow wire connected to the wire its already on. make sure your stereo fuse is good in the fusebox of the car. then, use a test light, with the ignition switch on, to find the second wire on your cars harness that has power. that will be your switched power. connect that one to your red wire, and that will solve your problem.

It seems something is preventing the disc to spin hence its rejecting it. It has to with the CD player's mechanical system where mostly plastic gears are being used. These when worn out can lead to such problems.........sodeep

Tuner works but when cd or i-pod are selected they indicate theyare playing but no sound.

Is your stereo sytem amplified? if so then the remote turn on wire may be hooked up to your power antenna turn on wire. The amp needs to be connected to blue w/ white strip.......not solid blue. The solid blue turns off to lower a power antenna when the tuner is not in use. Blue with white always stays on with tuner cd or ipod.
