Question about Insignia 42" LCD Flat-Panel HDTV

Crackling noise The sound on my 42' LCD tv seems to crackle every once in a while. It goes away just as fast as it come on. It also doesn't happen all the time either. I was told it may have to do with the temp of the tv. Is that true?

I to have an Insignia 42" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV. Out of the blue it has a clicking noise that last a few seconds and goes away. It's coming from the back left side behind an air vent in the casing. If I knew it was normal I would be fine by it, but I fear it is a warning of some about to fail.

The audio crackle stopped when I disconnected the analogue antenna cable, which is not important as we only need it if the satellite goes off line. Ausred.

New t.v's don't overheat like old computers. check the audio connections from your cable boxor satellite reciver to your t.v. believe it or not, sometimes the wires just need cleaned. use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip to clean the ends of the cables. let dry for a few seconds and plug them back in. if this does not help let me know.

First of all, sorry for the mix up on model the model #. I was viewing a problem regarding LG LCD TVs and found your link. My problem is with an LG 42LGX LCD HDTV. It has worked fine without any issues...

Hi,

welcome to fixya and thank you choosing my service..

OK,that is the most and common problem of all LCD TV...

Usually dim and totally have no back-light is cause of bad inverter board. One of the inverter board is shorted that cause dim light and crackling sounds..

This are the sample images of inverter board.
1_22_2012_1_29_43_am.jpg

to make sure that the problem is on the inverter board kindly try to disconnect/unplug it from your TV and power ON then observe if the crackling sounds remain or not..If the crackling sounds gone replaced the inverter board..Also I need to how many inverter board you have? if 2 or more disconnect it one by one to determine if where is the specific faulty inverter board..

Example:
I disconnect #1 inverter still have crackling sounds..next disconnect #2 inverter and reconnect the #1 inverter until you found the faulty one..Note when you doing this make it sure you power off the TV before you unplug or disconnect inverter board because its high voltage..

I need the picture your TV screen..just send it to chesterpendilton@yahoo.com

Regards.
Chester

Sound is okay watching tv on hdtv - but crackles with dvd playing

If your DVD player supports HDMI or OPTICAL / DIGITAL audio then I would take a look at swapping to those type of connection first. This would help eliminate bad cords / connectors / electrical interference from other sources

Your TV has two hdmi inputs and optical so you have a choice

Crackling noise from tv

That crackling noise has nothing to do with the television and everything to do with your antenna. It is merely signal breakdown, when you get signal interference with analogue tv you get snow, with digital you get little squares on the screen and/or sound breaking and cutting in and out, get a licensed antenna repairer to come out check your signal strength as you may need a booster or your antenna could just be a few degrees off....

Vizio 42" LCD HDTV audio issues

First of all go into the audio menu settings and turn off the "surround" feature off and that should fix the voices/music differences. Does the craking sound appear while watching any sorce such as cable box,sat rcvr or DVD player? If not isolate it to that input and maybe that device is giving the problem.
