Question about GE Profile Arctica Stainless Steel Top Freezer Refrigerator

Customer service I have a GE profile refrigerator PSS26SGRDSS,the ice dispensor is not working.I found out that there is a manufacturing defect in this series that the company knew about.They did not let the customers know.My refrigerator is just over 3 years old and the company is refusing to repair it free.I think their customer service is very poor and even told me they called me several times and that is not true.For the sucessess of the company be honest in your dealings because everyone is as as intelligent as you are or more.I will not reccommend GE refrigerators to anyone.

    I have the same problem pss26sgrdss. I replaced the front panel wx10415. still doesn't work. any suggestions?

    Ice dispenser on P2226SGRD does not work in either crushed or cubed mode. Ice maker works when arm is pressed for ice, the green light on front panel dims but no sounds and no dispensing...

    Our ice maker quit working today. The light at the dispense panel dims when the dispense door opens, but the motor makes no effort to turn. I pulled out the bin and the motor is not jambed (turns smoothly by hand)

    I'm wondering if there is a loose plug or something. Seems strange that the motor would suddenly stop one day. Guess I'll be dismantling the unit if I don't find a fix online.

Everyone has their opinions. Been repairing for a long time and in all honesty, I don't think we ever had a call with your problem on your model. Perhaps was a molding issue with the housing and it was missed by the manufacture and passed through the assembly line un-noticed. Don't get me wrong, all maufactures have problems but the company in General is a good Company. Perhaps you should give them one more time and call again, speaking with soemone higher up the echelon. When a rep answers, kindly tell the you would like to speak with their supervisor. The people you speak with did not make your refrigerator and the problem is not theirs personally. With the right approach, I am positive your issue can be resolved. A final note...expect to pay money as the warranty is only 1 year and you are into the third year. Good Luck, Eric Campion

I have the same problem with the same refrigerator, call up GE Customer Service and tell them that you want part number WR49X10173, a water dispenser heater kit. They should sell it to you for a "discounted" price of $25. Good Luck, and don't ever by GE anything ever again.

Ice maker not working

OK, that should be no problem. Test your ice maker and fill with water if empty of ice. If full of ice and not moving to dump tell me. I need to help you locate the problem doing that and answering will tell me the problem. My GE Profile side by side refrigerator ice dispensor and water dispensor has quit working. The appliance is less than 4 years old. Wanda

The common connection between the two starts at the water fill valve. I have found also that the filter (water) if clogged, will prevent water flow to both. Change the filter first, cheapest and eaisest.

Ice dispensor flap is little warped.

the number for ge parts service is 1-877-959-8688. make sure you have the model # and serial number. if you don't have a manuel or if you have one that covers more than one model in it than you have to look for a little black most likely silver plate wich will have that info on it. if it's not on the inside or front of fridge anywhere you will have to pull it out from the wall because it will be on the back of it. hope i helped you.

The dispensor door not closing completely . Replace the flap solenoid and plunger behind the dispensor controls .

GE Profile Artica - Water & ice dispensor not working.

This could be as simple as the door switch or as complex as the dispenser control board. I would try the door switch first. When the door is close it turns on the dispenser controls. If the contact is defective in the door/light switch then this happens. Unplug remove the door switch and mark wire locations. 1 Powers the lights and the other powers the dispenser. and one is the power itself. Sea Breeze

There is a selector for crushed or cube and is usually at the dispensor.or above it. good luck

Dispensor not working

Check the electrical connector at the bottom of the freezer door , this can corrode and develop a poor connection

Ge profile side By side ice maker water leak

This sounds like the float mechanism has gone bad. Remove it and have a look. It may be the float or the switch on it that is bad. There is also a solenoid valve. Parts kits are available. Shut off the water first!
