Question about Canon BJC 5100 InkJet Printer

Open Question

Canon bjc 5100 color bubble jet printer

I have my one purchased 8 yrs ago. Since the first color print usage which was exellent, I've been using it only for B&W printing, which is remarkable period of time for me. But...I have to print some colour sheets now and that is the problem. The holder 2 is clogged (many years ago?) and I do not know how to clean it without damaging the print head area at the side of a cartridges holder.
Is there any simple solution?

Note: I live in Macedonia, so I suppose it makes the possible solution less capable for me, if service is a solution, because the printer model is not present at the resealers anymore.

Thank you, gringo11
Removing 2 screws underneath and clean it do the job!

I had this problem twice! The black pigment from number 5 cartridge did not print at all. First time, I just bought new printing head, thought it was end of unit life because I had it for a year of heavy use. Second unit last only 6 months so I decided to do some internet research.

And I Fix Ya!

CAUTION!!!!

  • PAIR CABLE IS VERY WEAK. It barely able to support the weight of the print head. After remove 2 screws, DO NOT pull the white part too hard and DO NOT leave it hanging. (I tried to clean my old unit first and broke it.... well, it was already broken. Second attempt, second unit fixed!)cb45040.jpg

SOURCE: canon bjc-85 printer doesn't print anymore

Sorry if this sounds daft (but I am), when this happened to me and I'd pulled all my hair out I read the instructions on the cartridge and found there was a clear piece of film covering the ink holes on the bottom. It was almost invisible until it was pointed out to me. I pulled it off and 'hey presto'.

Hi it's Gill again. I've been looking around more on the net and I think the problem is our printers need new printheads which I'm told are spare parts easy to change. Hope this helps. Gill

Where do you add the paper on a canon bjc-8o/color bubble jet printer ?

Hello,

Could not find info on a BJC-80 but did find a BJC-85. Since they are similiar you can go to:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0900007433/BJC-85_Setup.pdf

This is a setup guide. Go to step 5 which explains paper input and orientation.

OK, I did find a user guide for the BJC-80. here is a link:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0900007420/BJC80_user_manual.pdf

Go to Chapter 3 for info on "Paper Handling".

Thanks for using Fixya.

Using JETCET Print with OKI C5200n Printer

The OKI 5200 is a 'GDI' or Windows only printer and does not support PCL or PostScript languages.
Most if not all of the printers listed support either PCL or PS or an inkjet based language.
I'm afraid you will not be able to print the the 5200 without it's driver loaded on the PDA.
If the 5200 supported PCL you would be able to choose any of the
Color HP Deskjets.
