Question about Hitachi WIP-5000 IP Wireless Phone
I have a Hitachi WIP5000A currently upgraded software version v2.2.6 LA1 and bootrom v1.0.3.
Is there a latest firmware/bootrom available that will allow the phone to access WPA WiFi networks? I understand it might be version 2.5.4 but cannot find it anywhere, not the bootrom that may required with this software version.
It seems Hitachi are now discontinuing this phone, so not sure how long support will last, so keen to get it working on WPA as very pleasewd with the phone
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Please find above your manual, inside here is all you need to know for now and any future references.
If that firmware upgrade box keeps popping up, I suspect that NO, the software isn't up to date? As usually it "Checks" to "See" if it is and only indicates to upgrade if it isn't,also if you do try to upgrade and it is current, the update simply will either do it over the top again, or upgrade so there is nothing to loose, so to speak.
I don't think you can "Turn the warning off" I think the only thing that will do this is an actual update?
You most likely would be best to simply follow the instructions in the manual and try to update the firmware, and see how you go. Most often Firmware upgrades only address certain "Problems" or additional "Features" that may have been added.

Have you put the hdd from the laptop into slave mode, its on the back of the hdd, there might be a "jumper" that you need to reposition, failing that only insert the 1 hdd from the laptop and make it the only hdd, it should have an operating system on to run as normal. You can see the <jumper> on the right of this picture, you will need to connect both teminals (slave) with a little plastic jumper.
